I fact checked the BK-Popeye tweet and they are owned by the same company. So yes, it is the perfect analogy since all politics are owned by the same "donors".

That debunks the entire "On the same day that someone logged in they changed the numbers !!1" theory. The problems were correctly identified before any of the alleged logins, and later corrected, and once more manually verified.
To stress, I have nothing against the conservative mindset. I vote right-wing in the Netherlands, i.e. in favor of small government, lower taxes, economic growth as a centerpiece of government policy, etc. By mixing crappy claims like the one above with legitimate societal issues you're not helping conservative credibility. In response to a thing about "common-sense gun control" in a different forum, I was in the process of concocting an infographic about common-sense speech control.
Then I stopped, thought about it, and deleted everything. Because I realized that, to many, this would seem like a completely genuine and reasonable thing. |
Yeah, go ahead and get me that infographic please. I think I could have a ton of fun with it.

How are the common sense gun laws working out in Chicago?

#1 greatest comment of the day:
The reason China is denying that COVID came from their lab is because 3 million deaths is an embarrassing underachievement for communism. |

Homicides started ticking slowly upwards after the supreme court ruled our handgun ban to be unconstitutional, but peaked around 2017 and are now falling back towards 1980s levels. Overall, Chicago has fallen to the #10 spot in US cities by homicide rate, although we are still #1 in total homicides, due mostly to the relatively small populations of the cities whose rates (as a percentage) are higher. St. Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, N'awlans, Memphis etc. It's still annoying, mind you. One must possess a FOID card in order to legally purchase firearms or ammunition, and despite the fact that the law says the state has 30 days to approve or deny applications, mine took nearly a full year to come through. |
