Burning, rioting, and looting broke out in Minneapolis on Friday night after deputies shot and killed a wanted felon who fired on them. Deputies assigned to the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force attempted to take the man wanted for being a felon in possession of a firearm into custody.
Police officials in Minnesota say the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force attempted to arrest 32-year-old Winston Boogie Smith on June 3 for a warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm, the Associated Press reported. As sheriff’s office deputies assigned to the task force approached Smith’s vehicle, he reportedly refused to comply with orders and pulled a handgun. Officials confirmed Smith fired at least one shot from inside his car.
A statement from the Marshal’s Service said Smith was in a parked vehicle and “produced a handgun resulting in task force members firing upon the subject.” Smith died at the scene from wounds from two deputies’ shots.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension reported that state investigators found a gun in Smith’s car along with a spent cartridge indicating Smith fired from inside his vehicle, the AP article states.
Following the shooting on Thursday, rioters marched in the streets, set fires, and began vandalizing and looting businesses, the AP reported. Police arrested nine people on charges following the night of violent activity.

You're right definitely better to burn down a Wendy's when you're unhappy with the government.

I didn't know where else to post this. Here's an excerpt from an email I received from the BMW Club:
With the above considerations in mind, along with a strong desire to get back to in-car instruction, we will require all Student and Instructor participants in the June HPDS to have been fully vaccinated. Final dose must be administered by June 12th, 14 days prior to the start of in-car instruction. We will require proof of vaccination uploaded to MotorSportReg. More details on the upload process will follow, but you will be denied access to the June HPDS if you cannot provide proof of your final shot by June 12th. If you’ve lost your vaccination card, contact your state or local health department ASAP to get a copy of your COVID vaccination record.

-----------------------
As you may be aware, the CCA Board has recently updated its COVID policy for club Driving Events. As a result of the new policy, the Tarheel Chapter is revising the requirements for participation in the June HPDE to include both vaccinated and un-vaccinated individuals as participants.
The Registration process for the event has been revised and is now open for non-vaccinated participants. There are currently openings for all run groups and instructors but some groups have limited availability.
We will require that at least one of the 2 in-car participants be vaccinated so please bear with us as we manage this type of complexity for the first time.
----------------------------
I did not look to see how MotorsportReg's interface was crafted to provide one's vaccination status.

Just like a baker should not have to make a gay couple a wedding cake, a race organization does not have to allow un-vaccinated people to drive on track. Just like they could require you to only wear yellow socks, or not allow any Schroth harnesses in cars.

You are the one who is making assumptions about people. I haven't met a black or Latino local who does not know how or where to get a vaccine. If they get them that is up to them. I don't care either way.
I also don't care at all when private organizations require proof of vaccination. If you don't like it, set up a competitor to them that does not require it. Then let the customer decide which one they want to go with.

As for the rest, you're just ok with racism, that makes you racist.
