Could be a good deal if the motor is any good.

Its got a ton of very nice parts on it from the description. The execution though not so much. The fact that it's not running and hasn't been for 2 years is also very disturbing.

Could be a great deal or someone's worst nightmare.

Someone pick it up quick and tell us which one

Is there any data which shows that fliter location makes a difference on a car with a huge intercooler?

Haven't we all discussed this before?

EDIT:

How many times you hit the dyno each week you should have already proven or dispelled this by now.

I know run ABSURDflow now..but you could call BEGi and get a cold air box and see.

If not a power mod...consider it a heat management mod.

I still have the box, just need to get the money-knife out and bleed a little more to get an intake pipe made.

I don't go to the dyno that often, but when I do I make it count.

Didn't you just sell your NB to get something else?

Edit: Nevermind. Just read your classified and I'm guessing your just looking for a cheaper alternative.

Default i looked at this one.

He wouldnt let me start it to hear the motor. So i offered him 2500. Its really a parts car without it running. Good news there are some good parts on it. If I could hear it run, I would/could maybe have offered more but without hearing, it could be the head or the whole the bottom end is knocked out of it. He spent a ton of money on it, sent it to AZ to have that turbo set up put on it because they were willing to do it. He said something about them saying they did that turbo setup on 1.6 liter Hondas so they didnt see any reason why it wouldnt work on a 1.6 mazada. I emailed Keith at FM about the motor, he kind of said the bottom end should be ok, but there is a reason we dont recommend that size turbo.....

The owner told me he had a real mild tune on it when the valve train starting making noise and parked it. When I had the hood up on it the injector wires were hanging on the injectors. Tugged on them and they came right off the injector. Chances are an injector wasnt firing due to wiring not making contact and it went lean. It needs a battery, tires, rust in the rockers, the turbo would need to be figured out/downsizied/tuned, and the motor repaired. He told me he wouldnt go south of 5k or something. You could probably find a running one for 5k that didnt have all the outstanding questions.

I have no reason to believe the owner was lying about anything, I just think he is a little out of touch with the real value.

Matter a fact I told him about this site and said he should really look on here to see what running examples are going for.

I saw that Miata on Full-Races website, the turbo is the same I run I think it's fine for the motor full boost by 4,500 RPM on a 1.6 isn't bad at all...But it has some nice parts on it.

wtf dont these people ever clock their snails? instead their use 12 feet of piping to make the turbo go from one side to the other and then the other way around the corner to the inter cooler...

No, I dont think he has the knowledge or tools. He paid for somebody to do all the work to it. I told him the only way he would even come close to seeing 5k for that care is part it piece by piece. He didnt seem to keen on the idea of parting it. Its a shame every month it sits there the rust gets worse in the rockers and the value continues to decline.
