Long story; My Grandson's first car was a 2000 silver Miata, Automatic, with over 200,000 miles purchased from a friend for him. He loved it, but now wants a Mustang.
He was pushed into a wall by a big truck and destroyed the passenger side of the 2000. I purchased a silver 1999, put his motor and trans into the '99 along with the entire electrical system and the whole black interior from his original 2000. We cut up the 2000 body and took it to the junk yard.
The motor from the 1999 and 5 speed transmission sit in my cellar. Motor is in two pieces since the original had spun a bearing and I bought the bottom end from Thirdgen in 2017. It has been sitting waiting for the original 2000 motor to die (It has over 240,000 on it and is still going),
Except for the original motor, the car is in great shape for its age with no rust. Roof is in good shape and the roll bar has never been used for its intended purpose. I will be posting pictures later in the week. I am asking what it is worth and I am soliciting offers. It will be available in about two weeks.
Sale would include the 1999 motor and 5 speed trans. You could drive it automatic until the motor dies and replace the engine and continue as an automatic, or change to a 5 speed.

Just to clarify, it's a '99 chassis with a 2000 motor and an automatic trans? Both motor and trans likely have way more mileage than the odo indicates?

ALL the electrics were moved from the 2000 to the 1999 chassis with the engine, transmission and dashboard, so the mileage on the engine and automatic transmission are correct. The only thing left in the 1999 Chassis and operating now are the rear end and gas tank.
The clutch system (pedal assy etc) go with the car to reinstall the 5 speed.
Understood. Mileage + auto trans crushes the market for these. There's two local NB Autos that have been on Craigslist for 60+ days. Obviously there's some value in the drivetrain swap, but not a lot of people that want to undertake it. I'd say that's a $2000 car on a good day.
To further the aforementioned, the ones looking for a cheap worthwhile project like this are probably the drift kids, and that's going to be their price range. It's a little bit different up here, where rust is awful, so clean projects even go for more.
