NY: Supercharged 2000 Miata
Trying to help a good friend sell his miata.
I've recently married and decided to downsize, that means letting go of my 2000 Miata.
My goal with this car was to build an extremely fun, quick, well rounded Miata that worked well on the street but could also be taken to occasional autocross or track days. Unfortunately I never got to take it to the track, and only went to one autox with it, but it is still a great toy and awesome to drive.
The car runs great and pulls really strong. I installed the kit myself, using fresh oil and following all of Kraftwerk's and Track Dog Racing's suggestions. This includes the building and placement of a custom bracket to hold the supercharger's oil cooler. I'm not using the fuel computer that came with the kit as it required hacking up the injector harness and I wasn't up to that. Instead I have TDR's fuel and timing cards installed. I wanted to retain use of my OBD2 port and be able to have the car inspected, something that can be hard and complex with a standalone system. They're installed with a harness that required no cutting or splicing of wires so if you want to go megasquirt route in the future it's an option.
The Exterior of the car is a 7/10, there are a few dings and scratches on the body, the top isn’t in perfect shape but it does not leak at all.
The interior is in excellent shape aside from a worn driver’s seat, nothing horrible just not perfect. I say the interior is also a 7/10
I will list EVERYTHING done to the car. After doing the math I found around $12k invested into this roadster, possibly more in miscellanies parts. If you are a miata enthusiast you will see that no corners were cut, all the parts purched for this car are of top quality. The only thing I would highly recommend doing is getting a stronger clutch. The current one holds but with all the additional power the current clutch can slip.
