I put my Prelude on my CC.

actually, yes.

we had our cash in a foreign online bank account. We went to the local branch that day and because it was an online only account, they couldn't actually access and withdraw the funds (we were told otherwise). It would have taken too long to transfer the funds to our regular bank; 3-5 days. We "needed" to get the car that day, and the dealer took cc payments, so we just put it on the CC and paid it off right away.

I'm guessing it was for the points and he didn't need to since no one in their right mind would do that if they were going to keep the balance rolling since the interest rates are retarded.

EDIT: He beat me to it. He did not intent to carry the balance and this is not what people are concerned about.

So what you're saying is... that you had the assets to buy the car outright.

I've tried that on my last few car purchases. Almost got someone to do it, they had a Square reader or whatever. Cashback would have been awesome.

they charged us like a $20 fee for it, ndb. we really didn't have another option.

but we always put big item purchases on the cc, then pay it right off. plus there a little protection there.

Dealers I have worked with in last few years will allow partial payment with CC, rest in other forms.

screw bank loans if you can avoid them..

I always have a 0% credit card on hand and you can get whatever you want. Just obviously need to still be responsible with it. Literally my entire build list on the Miata was tossed on a CC last spring at once. I had no rush to pay it off, had all the parts I wanted for the upcoming season, took no interest on any of the borrowed money, kept liquid assets in my bank, and make points back that ended up netting me well over $500 back. So many win units!

I think it was two-fold.
1a) He had back surgery and he can't drive it because it's not easy to get in and out of.
1b) Back surgery is often for leg weakness so it means he might not be able to use the clutch all that easily.
2) If he can't really drive it, it makes no sense for him to keep it in this state

+1 to the bold

For a bunch of folks complaining about how there are so many shitbox miatas out there that get ruined, these are strange comments given that the parts are barely used and he didn't buy ****. He probably priced it a bit high also because everyone I've seen that has made offers on miatas lowballs the **** out of people!

This thread got weird...

Yup, I only posted because I was under the impression that he'd take a lower offer once he realized how ridiculous his asking price is!
