Well done 5.0's are bringing that much. Jason McCulley has built and sold four. The first sold for 18K and the last 23K. And, it is Canada where a 200K stock car can bring $6-7K

I had over $43k documented into my 93 5.0 with 72,000 km (44738 miles of u USA peeps) and that doesnt include any taxation on those items or labor. Taking into consideration the 50% loss rule right away, I still took a beating and got no where CLOSE to 50% of what I had into it. I think I was more around the 23% mark.

People might be listing there 5.0's for $20,000 but I am certain the amount of them selling for that price are far and few. Mine was pretty mint and the market dictated it wasn't worth ****.

And in Canada you can get a 302 5l long block, trans, rear end for under $2,000 EASILY. 1990 clean Miata around here is say $5,000. You are at $7,000. Then consider $11,000+ more for goodness. In the end that is a car I would pay no more than $10,000 for depending again on quality of work and mods. I am not even sure what the other 11k is going into but i could guess $3000 standalone, FM conversion and exhaust $3,000.

That leaves 5k more (spend that on the flux capacitor) and you still have a car that will get beat down in price on the you dont get what you put into it rule.

I would NEVER EVER buy a Mustang from a Canadian especially one that is active on forums in any way what so ever.
