IL FS: 1993 Miata w/ GT2560r, Megasquirt, <50k miles - $6900
Located in Wheaton, Illinois
It’s been a wonderful ride, but it’s time to part ways with my beloved Miata. This car has been very good to me, but sadly the toy must go. It’s been boosted for ~6000 miles and is a blast to drive. This car is an autocross monster and a few more bits and pieces away from being a track monster. The car is absolutely a 10ft car, but as you get closer its age shows. The paint is a bit tired and could use some TLC to remove old cone marks, dings, and rock chips. There is absolutely no rocker rust. This is originally a California car and has been garaged in winters.
Drivetrain:
Original 1600cc I4, ~210rwhp @ 11psi (Dyno’d at 256rwhp at 13 PSI, 220rwhp at 11 PSI without a cat)
GT2560r Turbo with HKS cast tubular manifold (this manifold is very rare and built like a brick shithouse)
RX-8 Yellow Injectors
Enthuza exhaust with custom downpipe and catted midpipe
DIYPNP Megasquirt modified for sequential injection, Electronic Boost Control, Launch Control, Flat Foot Shift
949Racing SuperMiata 1.8 Clutch
4.1 Torsen LSD
Coolant Reroute
Chassis:
1.8L rotors and calipers with EBC Yellowstuff pads, Stainless lines
Fyin Miata Stage 2 suspension with adjustable Tokico shocks (rear sway bar removed)
Polyurethane Suspension Bushings
Replaced Alignment Bolts
949Racing SuperMiata Swaybar adjustable Endlinks
Tirerack C1M Wheels with Dunlop Direzza ZII (33% life remaining)
Depowered Steering Rack
Hard Dog Hard Core Double Diagonal Rollbar
Interior:
Racing Steering Wheel
A/C & PS Delete
Kenwood Stereo with BT/Aux/Pandora
Upgraded Polk Speakers in doors and headrests
The Bad:
Clean Carfax, but there is evidence that it was sideswiped in a past life due to the respray on the drivers side. Still a good 10ft car.
Tires have 33% life, but they still grip hard and would be a blast to finish out on the autrocross course.
Fenders are rolled but there is still a creak when turning right. Suspension doesn’t appear to be the culprit.
The tune could use some tuning when it comes to overrun on deceleration. After coming to a stop, it sometimes wants to go into a high idle. I will try to fix it before it sells. Other than that it runs great, and AFR is good at WOT and good at cruise. Can Idle at 14.7 due to sequential injection & sequential ignition.
The downpipe has seen better days.
Boost Lag. Doesn’t boost until 4500-5000 rpm. This is likely due to the downpipe that I haven’t gotten around to replacing, due to the fact I don’t have any access to fabrication facilities.
Vinyl seat covers are torn at the seams. This car is begging for some proper racing seats which are a personal preference.
