$7300 95 Miata, Seattle - Xida, Blackbird Fabworx, Flyin' Miata, etc.
Hey guys, I need to buy a truck for work, which unfortunately means it's time to say goodbye to the car I've owned longer than any other.
This is not a cut springs, deep dish wheels and underglow build. This is also not a full track build—sound deadening in a track car? —although it would certainly make a great one with minimal effort. My purpose in building this car was to make a Miata that could handle absolutely anything I threw at it, from long road trips, to years of daily driving, to canyon carving, to autox, to rallyx, to towing stuck Subarus out of the snow...
You get the idea. Jack-of-all-trades, master of... Well. Quite a few things actually, thanks to the absolute best parts money can buy—thank you vendors!—custom parts made by 425 Motorsports, and an obsessive desire to keep improving the little roadster.
There's well over $20,000 worth of parts alone put into this car, and... Oh, this is awkward. I just remembered what forum I'm on so I'm going to stop right there and direct you to the part list at the end. Now Clubroadster on the other hand will be getting an itemized parts list with labor costs, sentimental value, rarity factor, etc....
I expect that due to the modified nature this will likely find a home with a Miata enthusiast or a track junkie that wants to save some cash on a build. That said... If you're new to the MX-5 world and think this would be a good fit for you I'd love nothing more than to get you in the driver's seat and send you home with a car that will put on a smile on your face for years to come.
Some info that I didn't include on the CL ad below:
Suspension setup is absolutely sublime. Gen 2 Xidas, helper springs, standard spring rates, Supermiata sway bars etc. Etc. If you've driven on Xidas you know.
Sound system was built to be as stealthy and OEM-like as possible, as I didn't want to attract attention. Check the pictures and you'll see what I mean. I'd say I did a pretty good job, as the car was broken into two years ago and the interior stripped... Minus the sound system that apparently flew under the radar.
Drivers side has Schroth's ASM FE 4-point harness, which is allegedly safe on the street due to some rotational force/expanding webbing mumbo jumbo. I don't know. What I do know is that the Harness is DOT approved and one of the only 4-points that is widely excepted on track. That said... I also have a sub strap installed because 6-point is quite a bit comfier in my opinion. The ASM FE was designed to accept a sub strap, so you can go from 4 to 6 point as you see fit. The oem belt is still there as well.
Exhaust is a Fujitsubo RM10A. Light as a feather, and in my opinion the best sounding ots exhaust made for Miatas, period. It's also not ungodly loud. I think I have videos somewhere of the sound if you're interested. Or... You know. YouTube.
The GE Nighthawk headlights are amazing. There's a great writeup by Keith floating around somewhere. Probably Miata.net.
Oh, price. I'm asking $8500. I really want this to go to a good home. I'm sure you could turn around and part it out to make a profit, but that would be akin to murdering a kitten, kicking over a tombstone, and plastidipping matte black over Sunburst Yellow; all at the same time.
Please feel free to ask me any questions via either private message, text, or email.
