Default 2000 Mazda Mx-5 Miata - $6,500

Category: Import
Status: Clean Title

I have a 2000 Mazda Mx-5 Miata for sale, in USA - Georgia.

Mileage: 145,000 miles
Engine Size: 1.8L

Asking price is $6,000

Seller Information: Christopher Fields
Phone: (478) 279-3584
Email: kw1h@live.com

Finally decided to sell my NB1 after much debate. I have taken care of this car, as it is my third Miata. It is Emerald Mica Green, 5 speed with cruise control, power windows and locks, and Nardi Torino interior accesories. As of August 2012, the car has a fresh engine from Treasure Coast Miata in Hobe Sound, Florida installed (details below). Please note: I have ALL stock parts removed from the car available to buyer if they wish.

Engine:
Jackson Racing M45 Supercharger
Track Dog Racing 62.5mm nose pulley
Track Dog Racing Belt Tensioner (Steel pulleys)
DDMWorks fully enclosed CAI
Wahlbro 255 fuel pump
Mishimoto aluminum radiator
Megan Racing 4-1 header
Track Dog Racing header blanket
RoadsterSport 3 Midpipe (2.5in, High flow cat)
RoadsterSport 3 Muffler (2.5in)

Suspension/wheels:
KYB AGX 4-way adjustable struts
Tein S-tech springs
15" Team Dynamics wheels

Interior:
Pillar mounted boost gauge (FM)
Sony headunit
JL Audio 300/4 amp running speakers
Textured Black Voodoo shift ****
Textured Black e-brake handle
Flip-up wind deflector (solid textured black)

Note: The car has been running on the Jackson Racing supplied Magic Black Box engine management since the supercharger was installed. Although there has never been an issue with this, I highly suggest the purchase of a new engine management method if more/smoother power is desired. Members here such as Braineack or Reverant specialize in this.

Flaws:
Small rock chips on front of hood (picture)
2 short tears in driver's seat (picture)
light scratches on glove box

Engine details:
Back in June (6/2012), I attempted some "preventative" maintenance. Spare engine was rebuilt, installed, and due to an incorrectly assembled block (poor mechanic choice), the engine spun a bearing. Sourcing more reliable mechanics, I contacted Treasure Coast Miata for the current engine. They, and the shop who inspected/installed the current engine can vouch for it's condition. Treasure Coast completed a compression test, the new shop - Castrol Car Care (Fellow miata owner, great shop) inspected the internals of the engine, and both shops road-tested it. Compression results came back ~200 with very little variance between cylinders per Treasure Coast Miata, but I can call them and get exact numbers if anyone wishes.

I have attempted to be completely transparent about the car. I have installed most all of the aftermarket parts on the car, so can answer any questions you may have. If I have missed anything, feel free to ask.

Thank you,
Chris

Reasonable offers will be considered. Also, if particular parts are not desired, a deal can be worked out for the car without them. In the same respect, I am willing to part the car to a certain extent, at which point the price will be adjusted accordingly.

I may be interested in the car without the supercharger and with stock suspension (if you still have it)

how many miles on the engine from Treasure Coast?

what condition is the A/C in?

does it have a Torsen rear diff?

I would be willing to sell it without the supercharger, and will gladly include the stock suspension with the sale, but do not currently have the tools to swap it.

I believe they said the engine had ~80k when they pulled it.

The AC blows just as cold as when I bought the car.

I will get back to you on the diff, never thought to check.

Pm me for further details.

Due to common demand, the supercharger (obviously not welcome here) and Tein springs (poor spring rates) have been removed from the car, and replaced with stock parts.

Currently, as the car sits, it has:

Megan Racing 4-1 Header
RoadsterSport 3 Midpipe (2.5 in.)
KYB AGX adjustable struts
Mishimoto aluminum radiator
All previously mentioned interior pieces.

Car runs just as good as... stock.

New price for car is $4,800

Any input would be great. No one wants a great condition stock miata to build? I have all paperwork from recent maintenance, including receipts from parts and engine installation. Is the price wrong? Help me move this.

Pictures make a big difference. Yours are pretty terrible.

I would take some with a decent camera (even an iPhone or equivalent should do better than what you have) and present more perspectives: front left, front right, profile, rear, interior, current engine bay, etc.

Take some time to wash the car first. You'd be amazed at what good pictures do for interest.

Also, Autotrader.com.

Good luck!

Yup, that's pretty much it.

I'd close this thread also and make a new one with good detailed pictures and a CURRENT list of mods and price since the OP is way off per your updates in this thread.

Good luck

Before I attempt to start a new thread soon: Is the current price - $4,800, reasonable?

Also, I will seek a camera to borrow to solve the picture issue.

Thank you very much for the advice,
Chris

I don't think your price is outrageous, but keeping an eye most recently I am seeing 1999/2000 Special Editions with under 100,000 miles in clean condition going for around $5,000. With a modified car it is all about finding that small percentage of people who find your mods to add value.
