1999 Mazda MX-5 Miata - $$5000.00
Category: Import
Status: Clean Title
I have a 1999 Mazda MX-5 Miata for sale, in USA - Virginia.
Mileage: 165000 miles
Engine Size: 1.8 NA
Asking price is $$5000.00
1999 Miata NB with custom paint and more. This car has been my daily driver for several years but now that I am working only 11 Miles from my office, I don't need 4 cars.
This car has had a lot of love and fun put into her! I converted the original automatic trans to a MSM 6-speed with a SPEC 6-puck clutch, lightened flywheel and more. The interior has been updated with seats from an 04 MSM in cloth along with all of the black plastic trim around the vents, stereo and shifter have all been painted with a silver / titanium flake paint with clearcoat. The stereo has been upgraded to a double DIN Kenwood unit with iPod adapter, DVD, and more. Added LED lighting to the 2001+ style center console storage unit, LED lighting in the glove-box, foot wells, and more. EL blue and amber gauge faces with all other lighting converted to amber to match.
On the outisde I have updated the front end with a 2001-2005 bumper with foglight holes, 2001+ projector headlights (new from Mazda; not china crap) with 4300k HIDs on the lows and highs. Whole car was re-painted 1 year ago with Porsche 8C6 orange in a single-stage DuPont paint. Wheels are from an 02 SE with new tires as of March of 2011.
Chassis has "Stein Rails" with FM sways, Red KYB adjustable shocks, FM springs, all new mounting bushings / bearings on the struts as well.
Engine has been maintained and synthetic since 2000 by the original owner. I have always run with AMS Oil or Mobile 1 synth since. Rear-end and tranny have Redline synthetic as of 1 year ago. All maintenance is up to date and she passes VA emissions and safety inspection. (Done last month as well.)
I recently had a CEL for a miss and thought it was the coil-pack. Replaced the plugs, wires, coil-pack just to find it was an injector. Installed injectors from an 02 SE with only 36k miles on them... while there installed a new throttle body, valve cover gasket, and de-carboned the entire intake.
Exhaust is all off of my 02 SE and is leak-free and perfect. Brakes have less than 10k miles on all 4 and the fuel pump was replaced 1 year ago.
I'm sure there are mods missing that I can't remember at the moment but I will add to the list as it comes to me.
Open to offers!
Thanks and cheers,
Matt

Thanks everyone for the compliments!! I hate to sell her; but I still have a Mazdaspeed 3, Volvo V70, and another NB in the stable. The MS3 is pending sale and I hope to simply be down to the yellow Miata and Volvo by summer. Personal property tax in VA is eating into my fun money
As for the car's condition, she's rust free and reliable as hell. She's been my DD up till recently. I finally got my Adaptronic ECU happy in the yellow car and she's moved into place as the DD.
There was an accident with the orange car. Nothing terrible and she's never been totalled. I did have to replace the front bumper cover, right side headlight, and the lower control arm on the right side. The wheel nipped a concrete wall while it was turned all the way to the right when I was hit from behind. The impact bent the lower control arm slightly and so it was replaced. The wheel was not damaged at all but simply the angle the wheel was at when it hit the wall did enough. She's passed 2 state inspections since, 1 in Maryland and 1 in VA. (I just moved to VA in Feb.)
On a scale of 1 to 10... she is a rock solid 7. She is not perfect and is priced to reflect that. Mechanically she's nearly perfect but on the cosmetic side... she's got some blemishes.
For sure you need to see and drive this car to get the whole picture. With the MSM trans and 4:10 rear... OMG fun!
