Default 1999 Mazda Miata Turbo($8,000 obo)

Hey guys,
Unfortunately the time has come to let go of my wonderful car due to unfortunate circumstances. The car is a 1999 Miata PEP package with cruise control, A/C, Power Steering, LSD, and a color matched Aero Package which include a front spoiler, side skirts, and mud flaps. The car has 152,803 miles on it but runs great and is extremely quick. I also have the cover for when the top is down. The paint and interior are both in great condition along with everything else. The car has always been taken care of and maintenance records are available upon request. I am asking $8,000 obo

Turbo Facts: TD04HL-15G turbo, oil & water cooled, Custom FMIC, Custom Intercooler Piping, Custom Stainless Steel down-pipe & exhaust, Stainless Steel lines

The Turbo Kit was built and installed by Grand Prix Worx preformance center in Philadelphia, Pa. If you guys have any questions regarding the turbo or even the mechanical well being of the vehicle you can call them and ask for Anton @ 215-677-2345. This is where I brought my car for regular maintenance as well.

P.S. Sorry if the pics are not up to par it was really sunny out when I took them, and I guess I wasnt destined to be a photographer.

If you have any questions at all or want more pics please feel free to contact me at 267-205-7924 my name is Max

How much boost do you run? What kind of Fuel Management is on this car?

very sure, i won't go into detail, i shouldn't have said anything in the first place, it's just one of those deadbeat shops that order **** for a car from another car knowing full well it isn't meant for that car, insist they can make it work and then they want to send the parts back for credit, you get tired of it after a while

If you cannot elaborate on such a simple question about YOUR car, either:

a) you don't know anything about cars and probably shouldn't be modifying them
b) you're hiding something.

Seriously, how do you "not know" whats done to your car? That kidna of answer is only going to make people walk away.

haha you are correct about the not knowing anything about cars i just figure its best not to say anything at all instead of looking like a fool in front of you guys. There is nothing to hide the car speaks for its self. Oh and as for Mach 929 their clients bring very expensive cars there over and over to get more work done so I dont see how deadbeat they can be, but that is your experience with them not mine and I do not want to argue I was just caught off guard with that comment since I think very highly of that shop.

Sick... if you want to sell the car to somebody on this forum, then highly suggest it be YOU who calls the shop and asks them what's been done to the car, then get back to this thread with the specifics. I've never heard any seller ask a potential buyer to do what you're suggesting. I can practically guarantee you'll get no serious interest without a full parts disclosure and at least a dyno graph showing an A/F plot.

That being said, it's an AEM FIC or some other similar budget piggyback for fuel. For timing I couldn't guess... but I doubt it's the FM timing wheel... maybe nothing for timing.

The FIC does timing as well. Yeah, tough sell here. Try Autotrader. Then you can basically just make up **** and the 17 year old "buyers" wont know the difference.

solid 1999, wish i could afford it.
Needs new tires 5-10k ago
Gonna need a new clutch, and brake pads in ~10k

Turbo has fueling issues/etc. Looked up above the pedals (didnt have a flashlight though), in the passenger footwell, and behind/under the passenger seat and couldn't find an AEM fic or any fueling/timing stuff. Should call Grand Prix Worx and find out.

No boost/oil press/airfuel gauges, so i couldnt tell what was goin on, but supposedly it makes 7psi.

Dips during idle, to around 200rpm sometimes. Stutters and almost stalls. After boosting, and letting off the gas to shift, it emits a loud pop, probably from over-fueling.

The base car is in good condition, though. Needs a good tune, and an owner who knows about such things to save it from blowing up.

Max, the owner, is a good kid; not a poser-racer-punk or anything; just wish i had more money.

Good luck getting that kind of money for it here, the car is worth $5000 tops. Sorry!
152K and no real management, I don't know anyone willing to jump on that one.
Reduce the price to something near reasonable and you'll get hits, till then, good luck sucker!!!
