1999 Mazda Miata - $6900
Category: Import
Status: Clean Title
I have a 1999 Mazda Miata for sale, in USA - Virginia.
Mileage: 111000 miles
Engine Size: 1.8 L
Asking price is $6900
For sale is a 1999 Mazda Miata with a 5-speed manual transmission. It is Twighlight Blue with black cloth interior. It is the federal emissions version with the Touring package which includes the 3 spoke Nardi leather wrapped steering wheel, power door mirrors and power windows. It also has the optional front air dam and air conditioning. I’ve since added the 4.3:1 OEM Torsen limited slip differential.
The odometer shows ~111k miles but the entire engine was replaced at 48,000 miles in August 2002 under warranty by Bob King Mazda in Winston-Salem, NC due to the well known and infamous '99 #4 thrust bearing failure. The previous owner was an ASE certified mechanic working at a Lexus dealership in NC and the first owner was one of his family's friends. So I have the complete history of the car in one binder (including a copy of the original window sticker and canceled check when bought new from the first owner.)
Track Modifications:
Konig Rewind 15x7 in gunmetal with a polished lip
Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 tires
Hard Dog M2 Hard Core double diagonal rollbar with a black powdercoat finish. (1026 alloy of 1.75” diam x .120” - NASA and SCCA legal)
Hard Dog horizontal hitch and 4 prong trailer wiring harness to tow your tire trailer/tail
dual core all aluminium radiator
depowered steering rack
Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development front tow hook
driver's side Lexan popout window vent
Suspension:
Koni Sport (yellow) single adjustable (rebound) shocks
Ground Control height adjustable coil-over kit (Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development part# 0000-04-5402AW)
Eibach ERS springs (550#F/325#R – 0000-04-9325-07) I also have the 6” 700#F Spec Miata springs (Mazdaspeed part # 000-04-9700-06) designed for the Bilsteins used in Spec Miata but 550# is about the highest spring rate you’d want on OTS Koni Yellows.
Spec Miata Eibach F - 27mm/R – 15mm sway bars (Eibach kit 000-04-5304-EB)
Mazda Motorsports adjustable sway bar endlinks
Racing Beat sway bar support braces
Brakes:
Front - EBC green /Rear - Porterfield RS4 R
Goodridge stainless steel braided brake lines
freshly bled ATE Super Blue DOT4 brake fluid
Other Modifications:
Pioneer MP3 CD player with AUX input
Pioneer 3 way speakers
2001+ center console with usable cupholders
short shifter with RX-8 shift ****
10th Anniversary floor mats for the interior
blacked out headlight housings with clear Lamin-X film on headlight lenses
black mesh grill guard
Recent Maintenance:
new clutch and all related gaskets and seals
new front lower control arm bushings
Castrol Syntec 5W30 synthetic oil/Mobil1 oil filter
Redline MT90 transmission fluid
Redline 75W90 rear differential fluid
50/50 Peak Long Life coolant/distilled water
ATE Super Blue DOT4 brake and clutch fluid
NGK V-power copper spark plugs
The Bad:
The car has a few cosmetic blemishes which should not matter for any track car. The car is over 10 years old and has 111k miles on it so its got some rock chips and bumps and scrapes. I had a very slow excursion in turn 17 at VIR (Hogpen) where I lightly tapped the wall leaving only a few green marks on the front bumper and a slightly cracked front air dam (by far the lightest damage I’ve ever seen from any car going off at Hogpen.) I’ve since labeled and dated the marks and I actually get compliments from those that notice the marks. The rear bumper has cracked paint from someone who was nice enough to back into my car in a parking lot several years ago. The driver’s interior door card has a bit of a dent caused by my Sparco race seat (most fixed back race seats are too big for Miata interiors.) The hardtop was originally red, but has since been painted black. Its not the best paint job in the world but its only used for the track. The convertible soft top has a small patch on the driver’s side and only slightly leaks during very heavy rainfall (both wear in the top and leaking tops are known Mazda issues)
Located in Charlottesville, VA. I have the clean title in hand. No trades. If you've got any other questions, please don't hesitate to email me at maengelito (at) yahoo (dot) com.
Looking to get $6900 without the hardtop, $7400 with the hardtop.

Any chance you might be willing to trade some of the "race parts" for OEM parts and sell the roll bar?
#3
I'm not looking to part out the car as its pretty well setup as it is right now for the track. Thanks though.
#4
Not a problem. I just know its sometimes hard to move a modified car and often less profitable. I have a stock '99 so if you change your mind, send me a PM and maybe we can work something out.

Why don't you PM BacDoc on NASIOC? He's looking for an autox car. He's in WV and a mod in OT.

I can't seem to edit my original post. I'm now looking to get $6400 without the hardtop, $6900 with the hardtop.
Here's the service history since I bought the car at the start of 2007 (Google docs spreadsheet):
