Great car. Wish I wasn't on the complete opposite corner of the country. Shipping quote was $1500!

I want this so bad...

Want a shitty '96 and some cash?

If I could sell my '96 and my FXT I'd have the money for this, but it's probably going to take me 5+ weeks to do those two things.

So yea, if you want to hold it for me for ~2 months I'll be all over this...

MX5Racer - What's the over / under on this car making an 18 hour, 1100+ mile drive back to Ohio? How confident would you be in it doing that?

This is a seriously awesome deal if the car is exactly as described and in good shape.

A couple more questions for the OP just in the interest of completing information...

1. Is the soft top still installed? What kind of shape is it in?
2. Is this the car's original paint, or has it been repainted? If repainted, who did it? Obviously the front bumper isn't factory paint since it's NB2, but what about the rest of the car? Does the hardtop have a headliner? Defrost?

All questions any traveling buyer would want to know. Dammit. I want this.

Are the A/F plots on the dyno sheets accurate?

Is the car actually tuned to less than 10:1 for most of the rev range?

I've PM'ed the owner multiple times over the past month and he has yet to respond. I question if he's serious about selling this.

I'll answer for OP since I was looking into this car and he doesn't seem to be checking the thread recently.

1.) No soft top or frame
2.) Has been repainted the rear bumper has some cracking and peeling from a repaint where they didn't use flex compound.

My Dad has been driving this car 100+ miles a day to work and back with no problems. The exhaust drones a bit, but other than that, 98% this would make that trip.

What part of Ohio? My Mom lives by the Mistake by the Lake.

1. The car does not have a soft top or frame. I have a bare frame from another project, but there is no top on it.

2. The car has been repainted, and looks great except for the rear bumper. It looks like the body shop (Previous owner painted it, not me) did use any flex additive in the paint and now the paint seems to cracking/bubbling in spots. The rest of the car is fine with no issues like the rear bumper.

2.a.1 The hardtop is an early hardtop with no headliner or defrost.

The plot is correct. The tune was not done by me, but was tuned for 18psi and the previous 9:1 pistons. The car is currently running 9.5:1 pistons and ~14psi. I know there is some power to be gained by leaning the car out, but at least I know it is safe. I cannot find the driver for the serial-USB cable that came with the car and I did not have my serial cable with me at the dyno to adjust the tune.

To be fair, in our last exchange thru PM, I responded and told you that was too much money for me to take off the price. That being said I will send you a text message to the number you listed in your latest PM.

Do you know what the actual AFR's are? They dyno plot just shows less than 10:1.

Less than 10:1 isn't really safe, at some point fuel vaning begins and your causing more trouble then "being safe". So is it 9:1 on the points that drop below 10:1? Is it 8:1?

I do not know as the only data I have at the moment is the dyno plot. I will run some data logs and make some corrections now that I am home again and have some time. I spent most of last week getting my racecar ready for Sebring this past weekend.
