I bought this car in 2015 and built it out as a street legal race car. It still has all the comforts for the street like power steering and air conditioning, but other than that it is built for the track. I spared no expense building this car out with all premium parts, mostly from Flyin Miata. I wanted something reliable so it wouldn't give out under extreme situations, and you will see that in the parts list. Everything that could be overbuilt was overbuilt. It runs off from a Megasquirt ECU, so if you want to change boost, tune, etc. You will need Megalog Viewer and Tuner Studio as well as a computer with a USB port. It is currently set at a conservative spark and fuel map and street boost (21PSI). For track I set it at 15PSI boost for safety.
I built the car in stages and have been to the track about a dozen times. I finished the car in 2018, but have managed to get it to the track only once since then. Now, I have a baby on the way and am forced to realize that I just don't have the time for this hobby like I used to.
I put a LOT of money into this car, as the parts list will attest. I am not sure how much, since I stopped counting at $20k, but it was significantly more than that. I know I won't get that money all back, so I am just hoping that in return the new owner will be able to take my car out for some spirited driving in my stead. Bring a friend with a van or truck when you come! The miata will come with all my leftover parts and pieces from 5 years of building out this race car. I have lots of spare stuff and it all goes with you!

At 110k miles on chassis
-Kevlar timing belt, water pump, front seals

-Shifter rebuild kit with new race spec bearing
-Differential fluid (redline)
-Spark plugs and Magnacore wires
-Alternator
-Fuel filter
-Clutch Plate
-Clutch Slave cylinder
-Clutch throw out and pilot bearings
At 117k miles on chassis
-Battery
-CAS sensor
-Wiper blades
Issues:
-Boost gauge is chinese junk and doesn't work
-There is a chattering noise when exhaust gas is dumped out the wastegate due to shape of dump pipe, nothing dangerous just doesn't sound cool
-In cold weather if not heated up for a few minutes goes into a weird loop where rpms never drop below 2k, I.E. very high idle. Not a problem if warmed up first.
-Missing top trim piece around radio
-Key requires jiggling to remove
-Seat belts don't retract very well, require feeding back into spool, was going to fix with 4pt harness but never got to it
