Do you know if your car is 50 state legal? I'm in California and registering an out of state car can be a real hassle. especially if it's a 49 state car.
This is from the cali DMV: If you acquire a 49-State vehicle (manufactured for all states except California) from another state or country, you may not be able to register your vehicle in California.)

get this...
i get 2 guys, both "very interested"...
one says he wants to come from the west coast to see it, calls me a dozen times in 2 days for every little detail, the usual "let me know if the other guy wants it, because i want it, consider it sold, it's a done deal..." the usual stuff you'll hear.
Never heard from him again.
The other guy, paints himself as a nice guy, honest, semi-retired great guy, pats himself on the back by saying "once i say something, i never go back on my word", calls me a half dozen times in the course of 24 hours, tells me "it's a done deal, tell the other guy it's gone, sold, tomorrow you'll have the money in your bank acct" yada yada yada...
I ask if he's sure, so i know what to do..."yup, DONE DEAL, I don't go back on my word"
After two days of not calling, no emails...after I call my ins. company and tell them after such and such a date, cancel my insurance... guy never bothers to call or say nothing again.
I text, call, email him 2 days in a row, he texts me back saying "ah, sorry, found one local, so i'm not buying yours".
So...i know you get a bunch of tire kickers and talkers and dreamers when you sell a car, but I've gotten nothing BUT these people, who I guess have no problem lying and making **** up as they go, just to satisfy themselves probably, i have no idea why people behave this way, honestly.
If you can't buy it, if you don't have the money if you don't want to travel a distance, if you know you have no word, why lie? Why bother someone day after day after day...make him cancel his ins. make him run around like a chicken without a head trying to find a shipping company, put him through all this work, then never bother to say "hey dude, sorry but i can't come, or sorry but i'm a broke *** and just dreaming"...
People are liars.
I knew that already, but trying to sell this car just confirmed it solid.
No matter how educated and nice they sound over the phone, they are liars.
So i hope to sell this to a person who deserves it also.
I wish i didn't have to sell it, i've been driving it around past couple days and it puts a smile on everyone's face who goes for a ride...heads turn everywhere i go, even though it's just a Miata.
We shall see.

That sucks man.
I hate when people pull that **** with me when I'm trying to make a sale. Usually if its in person I can get a feel for what kind of person they are right off the bat, and I can decide how much time/effort I'm going to give them. But over the phone or just through the internet is a totally different story. People take advantage of the no face to face interaction.
This car is amazing and if there was a way I could, I would. Hopefully someone that deserves this car ends up with it. Good luck man!
