1995 Mazda miata mx5 248 whp whipple supercharger and 15x9 6ULs- $7500

Well I plan on buying the hardtop, the wheels and tires and I'll need a steering wheel to get home, I won't pay more than the $7500 original asking price. I just feel that's stupid, as you point out the car has issues that I would have to address. The seats, the lack of a radio, and most important after the seats is a rollbar. I get it. You are an auto cross demon. In autocross you don't get going more than like 45 mph. On the long straight at Road Atlanta the naturally aspirated Miatas hit 120mph. In a fast car like this one 160+ is a very real possibility. Next after a good set of seats (I have a set of lotus elise seats in tan that will go in here nicely) a rollbar, an upgrade to the brakes is a must for the big tracks. I'm down to $5500, plus an extra $2000 after the bidding is done for the extras. You want the car? Bid $5600 and it's all yours Trboboost91! Hope the piggy bank has enough left to replace those torn leather seats!lol

The sound is intoxicating. I actually tried to mount my FIA approved 2007 Momo Start seat from my 240sx into the miata, but the shoulder wing was hitting the pillar! They were just too wide. I was considering a set of Kirkeys but to get it as low as the stock seat (very important to me), I would have had to cut out the stock seat mounts, and I just didn't want to molest the car like that. Since then I did the foamectomy (took off the leather covers and reshaped the seat foam) and you be surprised how much like a race seat it feels. I can HIGHLY reccomend this mod. It's my GF that is starting a Fellowship at Beth Isrealy in the hospital. I've been working as a consultant, so I'm pretty flexible with pick up. So I'm not in any real hurry. I'd prefer not to end the auction early. But if you think you have an offer I can't refuse give me a call.

The stock steering wheel and a big box of good stuff is include either way. Miata's are spinning over 7000 rpm at only 135 mph. Ask me how I know... One of my next mods was going to be a set of gears out of an '82 626. The car has so much torque the 4.11s seem a little silly. And hey! I once went 63 mph for about 2 seconds at the autocross! Good times.

63 mph on an autocross course is quite a display of speed! The 4.11 in my 90, is now a 3.63 from Japan, paired with a Mazdaspeed 6 speed trans, to get some legs.
I'll go $7200. I need the hub, but you can keep the suede wheel. I just really don't have a need for the seven spokes. At this price, I would like the Hardtop and the 6ULs and RS3s.
I'm quite certain you can get more than $200 for the seven spokes and slicks. Please let me know if this is the deal you can not pass up!

That's a fair offer, and a week ago I probably would have taken it. But I've had so many people contact me and come out to see the car, that I would feel like I was pulling the rug out from underneath them ending the auction with only 48hrs. left. Good luck bidding, and I promise to send you the first second chance offer should you not win, and the winning bidder fall though.

Auction ends just after midnight tonight. It's no reserve, so after the bidding is over it's gone!

When you add up the parts and labor it makes you want to cry. But the market supports what it does. It looks like Oldgreyfrog scooped it up, so at least it went to a real enthusiast!

He's also taking the 6ULs and hardtop which will be an extra $1800. But he still saved $300 bucks by bidding.

My final total with hardtop and 6UL/RS3s will be $6901. His original listing price was $7500 and included a suede racing wheel, which is perfect for autocross driving which is what the car was setup for. I prefer a smooth leather Nardi for the 1000 mile trip home, so that should raise some eyebrows at TSA when I go through security.
In the end, it's always about timing. A friend of ours on our local board got a bill from the IRS for $9800. He decided for fun, what kind of cars he could have got on Ebay for $9800 in the previous week. There were 68 Camaros a Porsche 911 and a handful of other enthusiast dream cars. I didn't have ten grand that week, and the only way I will have a bunch of cash is when I sell another car. My wife sets the limit on 4 including her daily driver, and insists that my primary daily be a bulletproof car with a warranty, so that I won't constantly call her stranded on the roadside.
I'll say that I feel very lucky to get the Ubercharged miata for the money I did, but I have noticed something. Go on this forum, and pick the best car you can, the wildest, best build on the forum. Start to save your nickels and dimes, because in two years or less, it will be for sale. Same here, same on every car forum, I have ever been on. I don't know why, but having finally completed the best car he can imagine, these most accomplished builders will always move on to something new, whether its another car, or not. Jot down your favorite today, and see how long it takes.

You're not kidding. I had someone come and look at my car yesterday afternoon. He said he wants it, and said he'd pay my asking price if I held it till tonight for him. Said he'd buy it on the spot if the bank was open on Sunday.
So if the bank was open on Sunday, he could get his cash, which would mean I would have his cash, which would mean I would have been bidding against you last night.
Of course, I only bumped my CL ad up on Friday afternoon -- if I'd done it Wednesday or Thursday, maybe he sees in before the weekend and shows up on Saturday cash in hand....

I do love building, not as much as driving... I've been building my LSx swapped 240sx for years now. I think I've become emotionally attached to the Nissan, it's not likely to show up for sale. I origianally bought the miata so that I could improve my tuning skills, and stay active in motorsports, while I built the Nissan. The miata was a dream to learn autocross in. If you do something stupid while autocrossing the miata, even the slightest left foot tap on the brakes reals it in. It just settles instantly. The learning curve on the AEM EMS was tremendously steep! But when I go to dial-in the HP tuners for the 404ci L76, I'm sure it'll go a lot faster.
Here's my 240s build thread
