1994 Mazda Miata with Jackson Racing M45 supercharger

I purchased this Miata back in August of 2023 from the second owners who had owned it since 1997. It had just over 200,000 miles at the time and they had used it as the vehicle they towed behind their RV. Since it has a mechanical odometer, the odometer reading most likely does not reflect actual running time. The second owners had kept covers on everything, and thus the interior is in pretty good shape for a 30 year old car. I also have a stock of service records from the last decade.

After taking care of a lot of the deferred maintenance, I found an amazing opportunity in the form of a new old stock Jackson Racing M45 supercharger kit that had apparently been sitting around in a shop since the early to mid 2000.

I installed the kit and opted to use an MSLabs MS3 mini for the engine management.

Maintenance:
-New Exedy Clutch
-Rear main seal and rear oil pan gasket
-New brake master, clutch master, clutch slave
-New inner and outer tie rods
-New front upper control arms
-New front lower ball joints
-New rear passengers side brake caliper
-New door and headrest speakers
-Spark Plugs and wires


Issues:
-Rocker rust
-Zipper on drivers side headrest needs to be replaced
-Steering rack could use a proper depower
-Burns some oil (unsure of the rate)
-Tow bar had been welded to the front structure of the car. I did my best to remove it and paint any bare metal.
-Startup / warmup tune could use some refinement
