Default 1991, OEM Hardtop, 100% Stock, 5-speed, 168k -- asking $9k in Gainesville, FL

Hi all,

EDIT: I forgot to put it in the title, but the car is in Gainesville, Florida.

EDIT2: Also goofed the year-- car is a 1992, not 1991.

Had a baby last year, bought a house this year, and have come to terms with the reality that I don't have enough spare time or cash to make proper use of this car. It's never been modified. Was my sister's first car, bought from the original owner in 1999. I bought it from my sister in 2008. Drove it on-and-off for a few years, then daily'd it from 2013-2018. Since 2018 I've driven it less than 500 miles per year. Only non-stock parts are the head unit (came with the car in 1999), and the front turn signals (which are clear/euro style from ebay circa 2007). Car spent its whole life in FL, no accidents, no serious rust, body is nearly perfect, paint is 6 or 7 out of 10.

The good:
-Cursed water plug replaced in 2016
-Clutch has under 20k on it (replaced in 2015)
-Replaced the door/window seal on the driver's side door in 2014 (have the passenger side, just never put it on)
-Replaced the passenger window regulator in 2013.
-Car runs well, shifts well, drives like a stock 1.6 should.
-Paint is good, but not perfect (see section below)
-Interior has normal wear, but nothing excessive

The bad:
-AC compressor died, so I removed the AC/PS belt. That means there's no AC or PS at the moment, but both systems work well; just need to replace the compressor.
-Paint has several very small scratches on the hood and front quarters from where drywall fell at my last house when a tree came down over the carport-- no other damage occurred. See pics.
-Small chip in paint on front bumper (driver's side, lower half of bumper) from someone dinging it in a parking lot back in 2014.
-Speakers aren't great, but I have lots of spares that you're welcome to take.
-That's it!

Car comes with all parts and bits I have, including the passenger side seal for the door/window, NB steering wheel, a box of speakers, FSM on disk, Haynes manual, spare fluids and other odds-and-ends. Car also has soft-top, but it's pretty raggity. I really want to keep the car for a mild turbo build (you can find my other posts here deliberating the issue), but the house we bought needs a lot of work and I've had to accept the shift in priorities. I'm posting the car for 9k here and everywhere else, but feel free to make an offer. Special consideration will be given to miataturbo offers 'cause this community rocks.

newer/replaced seal

older seal (have replacement part-- super easy to install)

I took some photos just now of the scratches/imperfections in the paint, but I'm having some trouble adding them as attachments, so those I'll link through imgur. The scratches themselves are very small, so I circled them in the photos: https://imgur.com/a/Bgu7qd4

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I know $9k is way outside what most of us here are used to paying for these cars (stock, straight body, OEM top, no accidents, et cetera), but it's what they're going for locally where I live. I'm posting to MT because I'd rather see it go to someone who knows about and cares for these cars. Price is definitely negotiable. Like I said in the post, I'll consider any offers from MT.net users. If you're interested, give me a number.

Well the trim on the hard top shouldn't be painted either if we're going to be picky.

Why limit yourself to 9k. Start at 20k.

Default Price Drop

Okay, so I've heard y'all. I chose the $9k list price based on local Autotrader ads; The cheapest NA with hardtop within 500 miles of me on Autotrader was listed for $9.5k, and it had a little over 170k miles. All the others were $10k+.

I'll drop the asking price to $7500 OBO. All reasonable offers considered. If you're interested in the car, let me know what you'd pay for it. Worst that can happen is I say "no". I'm not trying to rip anyone off, just trying to feel out the market.

It would really help if you put effort into the car too. Wash it, vacuum, lots of tire shine, wheel degreaser, and some sort of plastic restoration in the dash. I could go on, but it looks like a heavily used NA asking a lot.

First thing I saw when looking at the pictures was how dirty the wheels are. A full on detail would definitely help.
