1991 Mazda Miata for trade (WRX, Mazdaspeed3, etc..)
Category: Import
Status: Clean Title
I have a 1991 Mazda Miata for sale, in USA - New Jersey.
Mileage: 91000 miles
Engine Size: 1.8L
Mostly Looking for a trade but if I get a high enough offer, I will think about it.
Looking for WRX Hatch, or Mazdaspeed3
Contemplating selling/trading my turbo Miata... I had an 08 wrx sedan that I sadly had to sell when I bought my home in 2011. The Miata has been my daily since 2012 and I slowly collected turbo parts for 2 years. Fast forward to now, I finished the build in October. The wife and I are planning a family, and now I realize that I have no place for the miata in my every day life. If I keep it, it will collect dust in the garage. I won't be able to take it anywhere with the family with only 2 seats. Want a Wrx (Wagon preferred) or Mazdaspeed3...Fun AND practical haha

Car hasn't been dyno'd yet but its currently on 10psi which I would estimate to put around 200hp to the wheels. The setup is capable of well over 250 but limited by the stock block. If I still have the car come springtime I will be bringing it to Oracle tuning in PA (Ken tuned for Flyin' Miata for a long time) I'm sure I'm missing stuff but if there is any interest I can point you in the direction of my build thread on miataturbo.net. I basically lost track of an actual amount that I have into the car but I believe it is in the $15,000 ballpark. Realistically I think it's worth between 8-10k if I tried to sell. I'm just throwing this out there but if nothing comes of it I'll happily enjoy the car in the spring and try again in summer.
What I have planned if I still have the car by spring:
- Tune by Ken at Oracle Tuning
- Aluminum Radiator
- 3.9 or 3.63 Torsen
The car did have a light hit back in June when I was rear ended. My dad was a body guy for ~30 years at a reputable shop in South Jersey and helped me pull the damage out. Bumper and finisher panel still need to be painted but I have a Qt. of Wanda brand red and clear coat ready to go on when weather permits it.

Any interest in Forester XT's? I have 2005 5MT for trade plus cash on your end if interested.
If not no worries, nice car btw.

Just curious... What do you have done to it? XT's generally only sell for 7-8K
*Edit* Maybe the 5MT is what makes the value higher? After a quick search I couldnt find any 5MT's around me lol

Probably a good thing you don't have spare cash haha. I think my wife would kill me if I traded after just getting the car in October. I really want to get back in a T Miata and yours is beautiful. Really like the build and couldn't help myself haha.
Info on the car though:
135k miles
The interior is 8/10 no smoke, leather, bluetooth, moonroof. Really nice for a 2005.
Exterior 6/10. Need driver quarter (guy hit deer and dented it) and paint touch up. $125 on ebay. Didn't bother me and couldn't find any actual damage other then the quarter and the bottom plastic engine guard.
Only things wrong with it is it has evap light (fixing, I busted purge valve when replacing the power steering) and synchro 1 and r are tough to engage sometimes. Just did 2 trans fluid changes to help it out.
Work done to it: Have receipts for all
head gaskets - completed by dealership under warranty.
timing belt
water pump
thermostat
valve cover gaskets
power steering pump
pcv valve
brakes discs and pads all around
both front half axles
inner + outer tire rods
front lower ball joints
alignment
Wrx kyb struts all around
OEM sti springs
invidia 3" dp - heat wrapped
cobb heat shield
oem sti catback
saggy butt spacers
cobb v3 accessport
Still working on an etune with Stephen Clark (online Subaru etuner). Installing New 550cc fuel injectors, walbro pump and filter before we finalize it. Stg 2 93 cobb tune was a bit much for the old stock injectors, so I am doing a slight upgrade to STI specs. Will be a good setup for an upgraded STI turbo and FMIC.
New front SG5 lip and rear spoiler newly purchased.
New snow tires on stock wheels and uncounted all seasons.
Car isn't perfect, but I'm trying my best to sort it out. I'm very particular with my cars haha. Sometimes a little too picky. Other then the trans synchro and the exterior dent it is a solid ride. Fun DD to work, just as a wrx Wag or MSP3 will be for ya.
I'll probably just finish it out and list it once finished. Couldn't help but make an offer on your ride. Like I said I want to get back into one.

Yeah... this is where to rarity of it is. They are hard to come by.... and even harder to find one with a decent tranny. Mine has a slight synchro issue with 1 and r sometimes.

A friend of mine actually had an 05 auto Forester and it was a lot of fun for sure. I actually helped him out with a gauge pod, which ended up becoming a huge seller for my little side gig (BNA Solutions). From 2012 - Now I have probably sold over 100 for the XT's
