Default 1991 Ford Escort GT - $2350

Category: Import
Status: Clean Title

I have a 1991 Ford Escort GT for sale, in USA - Washington.

Engine Size: 1.8

Asking price is $2350

1991 Ford Escort Gt (Mazda BG chassies). Turbo charged 1.8 liter BP motor. Made 197 whp at corksport on a dynodynamics dyno at about 12-13 psi. Used the stock n/a motor,8.8:1 compression ratio, and bolted up all the factory bpt stuff. Turbo, cams, intake manifold, injectors, exhaust manifold, 02 elbow, factory downpipe, oil and water fitings and lines. Bought a front mount setup off a guy who totaled his escort, very well constructed, has a cheap bov though. Using an rx7 b code vaf and factory bp26 ecu. Used all factory hoses damn near every where, fairly rare as they tend to be worn out on most engines. Replaced waterpump with bosch unit and did the timing belt with gates component and belt kit. Also, had the flywheel resurfaced and installed a spec stage 1 clutch, good for 289 ft-lbs rating. Has new, 5k miles, kyb gr2 shocks on the front. Replaced all sway bar endlinks with energy suspension urethane pieces. Has a 5 panel wink mirror and mx3 recaro style seats. The steering rack, column and wheel have been replace with mazda parts. New inner and outer tie rods have been installed aswell, raysbestos professional grade. Also has a genuine rmm grill. No stereo, the lower windshield has a crack that runs almost the whole width of the window but it is where the wipers sit. Can include some parts for the asking price, including cat back Stainless steel exhaust by cork sport and some mud flaps, probably more but I'd need to go look. Let me know if you have any questions. I am also up for trades or trades plus cash. I have a mazda protege 4wd and bf gtx that I always need parts for. Other stuff will be considered too but I mainly need the space.

Thanks, its a great dd/people hauler but performance wise fwd isn't the platform. I have been able to get 32mpg out of it at about 70-75 mph on long trips.

Mx3 steering wheel, I did a complete steering system swap from a protege. It allows the use of Mazda splined steering wheels. Completely bolt in.

Basically everything is Mazda except the sheet metal, interior and some of the fuel system( which ford actually improved IMO).

Other than giving it away and the fact that its a ford, does anyone have any ideas/suggestions for getting this sold? My wife doesn't like the fact that we have 5 cars at our duplex :( I won't be in a house till march, plus I have 2 cars at my parents house I'd like to bring over

Man, I feel for you. The car seems great and the price is good. I am also too far away to consider it or I'd be all over it. Did you throw it up on craigslist in a few metro areas maybe just a state away from you?

otherwise have you tried your guys on the protege forum?

Yah, got it in the big city Craigslist and on the other related forums. If I had the space I wouldnt get rid of it. I mean it's pretty darn fun to have 200 whp, a light weight car an get 30+mpg on the freeway. Mostly I get compliments and glws comments, which are nice but selling the car is nice too thanks for the responses thus far everyone.
