Default 1990 Mazda Miata MX-5 - $3000

Category: Import
Status: Clean Title

I have a red 1990 Mazda Miata MX-5 for sale, in Canada - British Columbia.

Mileage: 260000 km
Engine Size: 1.6L

Asking price is $3000

I've had this Miata since last year and got my hands and elbows nice and greasy in getting all the maintenance up to date and restoring all the mechanical stuff back to stock. This is the first Miata I've ever owned and if there's one thing I know, it's that when I can manage to live in a place that offers more than just one parking spot (for my daily driver), I'm definitely going to own another Miata.

The details: the car had its valve cover gasket recently replaced, a new clutch, all the oils and fluids topped up, new brake pads, transmission oil including the oil in the shifter turret, and I installed a new shifter boot and all the washers when I replaced the oil in the shifter turret.

The only concern I have is a bit of rust along the rocker panel towards the rear quarter panel - yes, it's a really bad thing. I can get it addressed by a good bodyshop here, one that does restorations of lots of roadsters and classic cars, and I have every bit of confidence that they will do a proper job on it. That's why the price reflects that cost, but I'm not going to ask you to pay through the teeth as if it's right off the showroom. The car has its rusty bits, and I'd rather you know than claim it's mint.

My girlfriend loves it and wishes I'd just keep it, but where am I supposed to park it?? I have until the end of the month to sell it. For you other BC'ers out there, the car is from Burnaby so it did have air care. I live in Victoria though, so I didn't need to get it tested. Just something for your consideration.

I am, from experience a Subaru enthusiast and have most of my car tinkering experience with Subarus, and I can't say enough how simple and satisfying it is to work on the Miata (this isn't part of the sales pitch anymore, this is just me raving about this little car. I love it!).

Please PM me for pics if I haven't had a chance to get them up just yet.
