1990 Mazda Miata - $9,000
Category: Import
Status: Clean Title
I have a 1990 Mazda Miata for sale, in USA - California.
Mileage: 220,xxx miles
VIN: 1234
Engine Size: 1.9
Asking price is $9,000
Up for sale is my heavily modified but still DD 1990 Miata. I bought the car as a super clean stock 1.6 in the spring of 2008 from a lady in Redlands Ca. The car had a little over 200K miles on it but it was well taken care of, and had zero rust. I drove it hard till I popped the short nose 1.6. Grabbed a junkyard 1.8 that had issues and didn’t last too long. I nutted up and decided to go all out (within my budget). Everything listed below has 8,xxx miles on it.
The goal with this car was to be a car that could drive to and from track days, weekend carver and look nice while doing it.
Andrew and Nick at Trackspeed Engineering built the motor, freshened the tranny seals, installed and tuned everything. Their directive was to build me a copy of the Rental aka Rover, and they did an excellent job.
The car has been done for about two years now and I have almost 9,000 miles on it. The first year I did one track day at Buttonwillow and had a blast. The car did excellent. My best time was 2:20, I know this isn’t a big deal, but I was told that was pretty good for a first timer. I would imagine a hot shoe could lay down some pretty good numbers.
This year I didn’t get to do a single track day or autox. I’m 45, have a wife and two little kids. I just cant use this car for what it was built for. It does well for a DD, but my old bones want something a little more comfortable.
A/C is removed, all of it, including under the dash. Cruise control removed. FM style de-power rack. It will be sold with a recent smog cert, but you will have to get creative in two years when it’s time to smog it again.
I'm not willing to ship the car out of the country. Buyer can arrange their own shipping if necessary. But realistically that probably wont happen.
Serious inquiries only. We all know what the parts are worth. I'm not asking anywhere near face value. It's a well sorted car that I have driven to and from work (160 mile round trip [seriously] through mountain roads, then stop and go traffic) almost all summer without a hiccup.
The resemblance to Rover is coincidental, I just happened to come across the white hard top recently for a good deal. I’m not a wanna be fanboy, ok… well maybe a little.

Forgot to mention. This was built in anticipation of going Rotrex for the ultimate reliable track toy, but I left the door open for going turbo, oil pan is tapped, ID1000cc injectors to go E 85.
1: Built motor
2: 10.0:1 CR
3: E85
4: TSE's new turbo kit
5:???
6: Need 10" 6UL's
Also, would be willing to do partial trade for a low mile Subie, WRX, STi, 5 speed Forester XTi.

Thanks Andrew, I appreciate all the work you guys did on it. I just wish I could use it. Hopefully whoever buys it will use it as intended.
So guys, I'm flying up to San Jose today to buy my new DD, somebody make me a reasonable offer so I have room in the garage for my new car.
