Default 1990 Mazda Miata - $8500

Category: Import
Status: Clean Title

I have a 1990 Mazda Miata for sale, in USA - Florida.

Asking price is $8500

Well I've got the itch for something new, so I'm putting it up for sale.

Looking to sell the car straight out or trade for a 1.8 NA or NB with all the creature comforts still, either stock or with track mods (rollbar, wheels/tires, suspension, etc.) Just need something I can drive around town. Depending on the car, may do an even trade (well modded, dd'able track car, or stock with cash on your end.

$8,500 with everything below (may be willing to take a few things off to reduce the price)

car is located in Lakeland, FL

Car has a current 2012 SCCA Logbook

1990 chasis w/ 162k miles - clear/clean title in hand and is registered for the street still

1999 1.8L motor w/ 75k miles swapped by Treasure Coast Miata

1.8L clutch put in during the swap as well by Treasure Coast Miata

ton of maintenance while motor was out (cam seals, hoses, belts, timing belt, water pump, plugs, wires)

MSD Digital RPM Window switch to control VICS on 99 motor

OEM 5 speed trans

VLSD

black hardtop

02 sport brake conversion - Carbotech XP10/8 pads front/rear

SPAL twin electric fans, main fan is wired to a 195deg thermoswitch, the A/C fan is wired to a switch in the cabin

CX Racing Radiator

New OEM coolant overflow tanks

P/S and A/C have been deleted

Koni yellow shocks with Flyin Miata springs

Racing Beat sway bar

adjustable end-links

15x7 TR Motorsports C1M Wheels w/ new Nitto NT-01 205/50R15 tires

cat delete pipe going to Magnaflow race-muffler with a down-turn after (exits right before rear diff)

SP engineering tow hooks

custom built 6 point roll cage (1.75 x .120 DOM tubing used - high quality stuff) w/ NASCAR door bars on both sides

Miatacage steering wheel quick release

MOMO D-cut 320mm suede steering wheel w/ AIM Solo mount (AIM Solo not included)

Sparco ProADV Halo seat on side mounts

Schroth Profi-II ASM 6 point harness

Mesh window net w/ Advanced Autosports window net mounts

AMB Transponder

Passenger side trans-tunnel mounted fire extinguisher

trunk-mounted ballast system

Cool-suit cooler w/ quick-release wiring for easy removal (wired to switch in cabin) and custom mount on passenger side

Helmet air-blower system (getting installed this week)

On/off switch mounted to passenger side of cage

Spare rear bumper

Extra HD roll bar padding

I use the car for wheel to wheel racing in SCCA's Super Touring Lite class, but it is under-modded (STL allows headwork and aftermarket ECU). There are actually some Spec Miatas that run in STL around here though, so I've got plenty of cars to dice it up with. It runs 2:45's with ease at Sebring (done w/ worn out RA1s in mid-summer).

Brakes are bled after every track event or race along with an oil and filter change (Rotella T6 w/ OEM filter), and trans and diff fluids are changed after every other event or race (AMSOIL 75w90 for diff, AMSOIL MTL in trans). The car is dead reliable on track, no overheating issues or anything, car runs great.

The paint is in fair condition; has a few nicks, dents, chips and scratches. Hardtop was recently repainted flat black to match the hood, but there are a few cracks in the paint on the hardtop due to a little flex from racing. Those were touched up with touch up paint, but up close you can still see it. The metal behind the rear finish panel isn't completely straight - looks like the previous owner got bumped on track. The rear finish panel is spray painted black. The paint is actually in decent shape everywhere else though. Oh, and the interior isnt professionally painted - I used a can of white rustoleum gloss paint and a foam roller, but it actually turned out pretty decent and has several coats on it. There's a slight oil weep from the crank seal area on the engine, but I don't have any drops on the ground, so It's not a concern for me at the moment.

Car was looking good and fast again this weekend at Sebring. Too bad we could not hook up and get some track time together Track Rat vs Track Rat. Good luck with the sale.
