I'd be a lot more interested if it didn't have the rust mentioned. Also, another problem I have with these cars is the weak driveline. Is there a cure for that?

The cure is that it comes with a spare.

In all seriousness, you can spend ~4000 on parts plus countless hours of labor swapping in a GT4 transmission from an AWD celica. They are known to be bulletproof somewhere north of 450hp.

With some care, these transmissions aren't as bad as people make them out to be. If you keep the power at around 200 and dont do any clutch dumps, especially on dry pavement, they should be fine for a long time. Also, using shockproof trans oil helps a lot from what i've heard.

The amazing thing about these cars seems to be the way they handle in the snow, dirt and tarmac. I haven't been able to drive mine yet (almost done with it) so I cannot say first hand how well they handle but bob bundy swears to me that his GTX rotates better than his miata.

Rust is a killer. I'm glad I found a GTX that is mostly rust free. But if you could drive this car for 5 years and have 5 years of fun with it and try not to think about the hidden rust, I think you'd get your money's worth. You could even hunt down a rust free shell and swap all the go-fast parts into it.

I have no clue how i'd ship that transmission... beyond palleting it up. Isn't the lightest sucker.

I'm happy to part them out... BUT I do want to wait until a buyer for the car is found. If they don't want them packaged in... then I can separate. I feel like I make my buyer pool smaller if I don't offer nice spares.

...I might do the Dirtas though... make me a decent offer and I can pull the old crusty springs off to save shipping... I figure the transmission is the real sweet item for people.

A reminder to possible buyers though... the spares are NOT needed. They are being offered as future proofing for the car. Car runs/drives perfectly fine and needs nothing at this moment.

What email do you prefer to use? I'll keep the dirtra chat out of this thread going forward. I'm almost prepared to make an offer. I just need to wait on my better half to approve the funds.

For those considering this car plus the spares, the Dirtras aren't really needed as spares. The Konis that the car comes with can have new inserts put into the housings if they ever blow. The rare part here are the housings themselves.

I've got a number of Colt 6920s that are just sitting at my gunsmith waiting for buyers.

Stock or modified... used.. new.... could be interested. Have been considering a black gun build, local guy has the tools and has pushed me to do a build up. But the right trade might bypass that.

Would put me on track for 3gun gatherings.

Really interested in this. Think it would make the drive back to eastern WV no problem?

Better rust pictures, and pictures of the wheels would be great.

Email is wilallin@gmail.com. Just let me know.

Will work on pictures for all. Having a bit of a life event happening, so have patience with me.

And I don't see why it couldn't make the drive. I've driven it all over the Chicago are since I bought it. Few thousand miles of just driving it. Auto'x it... nothing fell off and had it out for fun in the Chicago blizzard without any issues.

At worst... you'll have the option of having a spare for basically every part of the car sitting inside it somewhere :P

Unknown wheel brand, but they were insanely lighter than the 240sx se wheels I had on before.

You can see on the rust spots in front of the rear wheel, I have the trim piece that normally hides it.

Since this was requested by someone, I figured I'd update with it here also.
Spares list...

Off the top of my head:
Full engine with accessories (including turbo/dp/manifold etc)
Transmission
Center diff (rebuilt and tight)
driveshaft
stock oem rearend
all axles
all spindles
all brakes
oem radiator (recored I believe)
oem intercooler
intercooler hoses
stock ecu
stock air filter/afm unit
lower back part of front fender metal
misc. interior pieces
full oem rear hatch with wings/wiper/wiring
factory splash/bash metal under trays.

I think thats it. I basically stripped an entire car of everything I thought was worth having as a spare. Minimal interior pieces due to mouse infestation.

I also have a little notebook of all maintenance to all those parts from 130k to 200k. Including oil changes, replacements, rebuild/updates, turbo replacement, spindle bearing rebuilds etc....
