1986 RX-7 V8, looks great, $4375 See Video & Pictures
(Admin, please delete my earlier post in the classifieds section, thanks!)
Hey Folks. I have for sale a 1986 RX-7 with a Chevy 350 V8 in it. Below is a lengthy description including a video:

This is a running and driving 1986 RX-7 with a Chevy 350 in it. Overall the car looks great and is very solid. Is a blast to drive. Torquey muscle car power and sound with sports car handling and braking. This car is good to go the way it is or could use a few minor things to bring it up to the next level. Have a folder full of receipts for new parts. Engine conversion was completed about two years ago. Engine swap kit from Granny's Speed Shop. Check out the video and pictures, notice excellent depth and reflection.
Engine: Chevrolet 350 V8 from 1987 truck. Has Holley 600cfm double pumper carb, Weiand intake manifold, wrapped shorty headers & true dual exhaust, MSD ignition, Edelbrock valve covers and aircleaner, new high torque mini 3hp starter, and new battery. Do not know mileage on engine. Tachometer needs to be hooked up as does the speedometer. Runs great and strong! No sputtering, no hesitating, no drips. New fuel pump as well. Oil change and new spark plugs with in last 200 miles.
Transmission/Rear end: T5 5 speed manual transmission from a late 80's Camaro. Shifts great. No popping out of gears or anything weird like that. Drips a little. Clutch is newer and have receipt for it. Custom and balanced new driveshaft, have receipt. Stock differential, no problems at all. I think these came with 3.7 gears?
Cooling: New when installed aluminum radiator with two electric fans. Engine temp stays cool, no problems at all when on "country" roads but engine does run hot in stop and go traffic. I have ordered a 16” higher cfm electric fan that will be included with sale.
Suspension: Quality 17" Enkei lightweight "racing" rims with quality Toyo Proxxes 215/45/ZR17 tires with about 80% tread left. Five lug hubs. Suspension feels good and tight, doesn't seem to need anything. Car actually handles very well. Power steering pump not installed on the car, but is included with the sale. Has mount on it from Granny's Speed Shop but haven't bothered to put the pump on the car. Brakes are great, stop the car real well! Four piston calipers up front, vented discs all around. The calipers are painted kind of a purplish color, but actually complement the body paint and looks good. There is a minor vibration that occurs at about 55mph that lessens as speed is increased
Body: About 130,000 miles on the car. Overall the body is very straight, clean, and solid. Looks great in person. For any 1986 RX-7, V8 or not, it is overall extremely clean. The video shows pretty well how glossy the paint really is. A Few minor door dings and nicks. Car was repainted in its original color. Nice quality job, paint has much depth, is smooth, and has a clearcoat. Took a magnet to the body, checked all over including the normal spots these cars rot out (bottoms of the fenders especially) and it is solid. No bubbling on the car except a few small spots on the sunroof which seems to be pretty common for RX-7's that have been repainted. The sun roof does open and close. Upgraded to a lightweight aluminum hood and is painted to match. Stock spoiler looks good. Minor rust contained to outside corners of the floorboards. Small indentations in the frame rails from previous owners using a jack with a small head, rest of the underside is clean and straight, most of it still undercoated from the factory. Again, let me emphasize that the body of this car is actually VERY nice and overall solid. Car looks great!
Interior: Interior looks presentable and clean. Seats are comfortable but are somewhat worn down, driver side has a rip in the back of the back. Have purchased but not installed yet two nice seats included with sale. Could use a shift boot, have material that can be used to make a custom one that will be included with the car. Radio not installed, have a black plate blocking the area off. I have a CD player and LCD screen that can possibly be included with sale. The rest of the interior is definitely nice for an '86 vehicle. Door panels look good, carpet is good, majority of the plastic looks good, not all scratched up and faded, just a few pieces are cracked.
Overall extremely nice and clean RX-7 V8. Tried to describe the car as best as possible. If interested, or want more information or pictures, call: 262-391-1069 or email me: mjmoonwalker@hotmail.com I am located in zip 53017, outside of Menomonee Falls/Germantown/Sussex, WI (about 25 min west of Milwaukee)
$4,375 or best offer.

I'm only a few miles from Holly Hill as well. Definitely not Deals Gap but I guess is kind of the Deals Gap of Wisconsin. Can easily spend an hour or two out there doing some spirited driving. Some of the footage from the video of the RX-7 I took out there.
Another excellent place for some twisties is the Kettle Moraine Scenic Route, the section that is just north of West Bend, ride along Long Lake at one part. Beautiful scenery and great twisty roads to test one's suspension.
Maybe we'll have to organize some kind of spirited cruise next season.
And... back to selling the RX-7. Someone buy it!
