Default TURBO AUTO NB

Hey Guys thought id share my progress and just to show something different

My MX5

1998 NB
BC coilovers
strut braces front and rear
T2 diff with 3.63 gears and braced arms
manualised steering rack

Engine 1.8
GT2871R
Manley rods
wiseco pistons
ARP everything
ACL race bearing
BE pump
supermiata balancer
ported head
+1mm os supertech valves
kelford cam
supertech valve springs and retainers
begi inlet manifold with mustang throttle
1000cc ID injectors
supermiata fuel rail
adjustable cam gears
AVO manifold ported and port matched
500X270 intercooler
3"fabricated dump
3"exhaust system

GEARBOX
6 speed manual X 2
built and manualised Jatco L4n71B from early NA
with 2800 stall and billet input and larger billet output shafts
B&M ratchet shifter hidden under console in drop box
auto cooler hidden in the front bar

made 299.5 last time was tuned on 25psi on a hub dyno

299.5rwkw last tune every time i have click on high boost its lunched a 6 speed

Nice craftsmanship. Looks like a great drag race setup. Any timeslips?

Maybe this is the solution @bbundy has been looking for. Haha.

@patsmx5, next project to go with your compound turbo?

automatic conversion not finished yet still need a Tailshaft and i might up the boost a little if my tuner lets me when i go to get the green light to drive it hard

First tim I've seen someone use a proper auto Trans behind a miata engine. Would probably be really fun to drive with the manual shift mods. My dad's corvette has a manual shift turbo 400 Trans and it's a blast to drive.

We are lucky here in Australia the same auto was in a turbo 6cyl that people build so the parts are available only 2 issues we hit machining the rear extension housing to fit the bigger shaft and having a stall made apparently mazda's design is odd not enough room to fit parts needed but they sussed it out and frankestiened one from another converter

In the 6cyl turbo they claim 350rwkw all day so i think a 4cyl will be a little more so iam keen to turn it up next concern is diff and axels

This is interesting! Liking the coil setup and good craftsmanship it will be a blast to drive! 300wkw is around 400whp right? That sounds crazy fast. Subd

Yeah 400hp when do you guys start seeing diff issues?

AEM EMS4 was a trackspeed kit and was supposed to be plug and play was very far from it

400whp could do it I Imagine... although wheel hop will speed that process up which diff do you have?
