You can't just get a disk. Get the entire stage 2 clutch kit and a new insert for the flywheel. On my old original clutch when it was slipping, the disk was actually fine and within spec, the pressure plate was just old and had lost some of its clamping force.
Pressure plate clamping force is a huge factor when it comes to how much torque a clutch kit will hold.
Also, this is what I have for a head and neck restraint and I really like it. I've tried a HANS brand device and this blows it out of the water in terms of getting in and out of the car and comfort while strapped in.

I have a coupon code for Winding Road that will take 10% off your order, just shoot me a PM and you can have it if you're interested. You need to get on their contingency program, it's awesome. You can use the coupons to get hundreds off in order to get you into full safety gear as soon as possible.

Thanks for the insight on the neck restraint and coupons! How does it handle 3" shoulder straps?

Derp, I meant a whole clutch kit, not just the disc. I had a ACT 6-puck sprung on my street turbo miata many years back and I LOVED it. I might go with their full organic disc.

The reason that I like the three puck design on the Exedy is that it means the moment of inertia is much lower for the disk when compared to a 6 puck or full face. When you shift, the synchro has to overcome the stored energy in the spinning clutch disk. So in theory, lower moment of inertia disk, means less stored energy to overcome, means faster shifts and longer lasting synchros.

I saw a few of my bad habits in your driving.
I always over brake for T1. You are supposed to carry enough speed that you need to kiss the curbing on track out. But as Emilio pointed out, it is a big hill and it scrubs off some speed for you.
Don't over brake for T5. You need that momentum to climb that steep hill. And you can tell everybody here that it is much steeper IRL than it looks on the video. Just beware if someone left gravel in the paint area at track out. It does look like you are using all of track out, which is good.
T6 is actually banked and can be taken slightly faster than you think.
T7 was discussed above and you know what happened there. Faster on exit there means faster for the whole straight.
T10b is the start of a very long straight that just happens to start with a hill and a bend. As was stated above, .5 mph faster there means .5 mph faster for that whole distance to T1 braking zone.
T12. T12. I don't have the ***** I once did for T12 back when I had less power. That and my buddy wadded his car up there in an incident that looked like an Olympic tumbling routine.
If you are on the bumpstops in T1, then you are on them in T12, too.
If you can afford a track day entry fee, you can afford a fire suit. If you can afford tires, you can afford a HNRS. If you can afford the food and lodging for the weekend, you can afford a harness, gloves, etc. It looks like you are one skipped event away from actually being ready for an event, lol.

I'm only on the bump-stops in T1 right as I hit the bump at apex. This was only my 2nd time at RA, so I'm not sure if that bump has gotten better or worse of the past few years.

Yeah, I'm a hack compared to most of those drivers. If Espinosa did a 44.2 in a mildly prepped TTE e30 I'm pretty confident a proper NB1 could do high 41s. **** if I had power cap (15 more hp) I could be in the 43s with my driving.

Back from a great weekend at Roebling. Managed to win both days in a field of 9 in TTE.
Here's one of my fastest sessions on Sunday morning:
I had a few goals this event:
1. Successfully finish the instructor clinic on Friday, which I did and I learned A LOT from Sonny T.
2. Win at least one day for some contingency and year-end points.
3. Get into the 1:22s, managed that twice with a new PR of 1:22.879. I was 3-4 tenths off the track record of TTE, I'm happy with that.
Winning both days was really the cherry on top.
However, Danny Steyn and Blake Clements were both out there running in TTD(even though they're probably TTE cars) this weekend. They gave me a quick reminder of how fast I really should be going. Sure, my car needs some work and it's not a top-flight TTE car, but damn those guys can wheel. I talked to Blake some and he gave me some encouragement, which I appreciated. Then I got to follow Danny around for a couple of laps and figured out I was doing T6/T7 inefficiently. Danny actually got a 1:22.2xx on the first Sunday session. So I was basically running slightly behind/similar times to top SM cars/drivers, I'll take that for now.
And sorry I still don't have full safety gear yet! I was on a tight budget this weekend. I drove car down there, setup tent, swapped tires, ran, checked oil, ran some more, thankfully won, swapped tires back, drove it home. All in all it was a success.

I need to run winding road stickers for contingency, but I want to support my local vendor(OG Racing). Need to holler at Johnny to talk race suits soon. I've already contacted BSI Racing on a cage over the winter too.
I didn't know they did this...... that sealed the deal for me to get a Necksgens.

If ANY company had patents on HNRS devices and other companies were infringing on features, they would sue the offending company. I'm not saying HANS is right for trying to corner the market on something that saves lives, but there are thousands of life saving patents that have owners that are willing to sue infringers.
That being said, I'm not sure which unit to buy out of all the offerings. They are all better than a broken neck, and are all worth the $600 pricetag for that reason alone

Back from another awesome weekend! This time I got to hang out with two of my best friends. We've talked about going to the track together since we were in high school, it was awesome that it finally came to fruition.
My miata, friend's TTB M3, and other friend's E30.
This event was at CMP(Carolina Motorsports Park), fun course but the surface is worn out, low on grip, and hard on tires. I finished 1st both days, which always makes me happy:
day 2:
On Sunday morning I was riding with my student(my buddy in the E30) in a DE2 session right before our first TT session of that day. So I asked my other friend(M3) to start my car to let it warm up before he got into his car. Well, my starter had some solenoid issues since I finished the clutch job last weekend. The solenoid would stay engaged and keep the gear spinning with the flywheel for about 30-45 seconds, sometimes shorter, and then pop off. My friend didn't really know this and thought the car was guna catch fire or something horrible. The car would try to start unless you pulled the key out completely. So he got the car to stop making the funny noise(starter gear spinning) and quickly got in his car and went to grid. Unfortunately....... he put the key of my car in his pocket when he went to grid lol. So I missed the first session, which was undoubtedly the fastest session of the weekend. Couldn't be mad at my friend, as he just reset the TTB track record, and I didn't let him know about the weird starter issue.
Anywayzzz, got out on track during the 2nd session and ran my fastest lap of the weekend. I had to start from the back, but traffic was pretty damn polite this heat.
Here's the fastest lap, sorry for the quality/shake I had to use the gopro1 since I forgot the microSD card for the gopro4 Sloppy lap, but still fun.
Next month(June) I have already budgeted to purchase a neck restraint!
I'm suppose to go to Hyperfest at ViR this weekend, but I really need to get the starter sorted out. I'll be by myself this time, so if it doesn't get sorted I might have to skip it.
