Pusha's Build Thread
I figured I'd start a thread documenting my build/bankruptcy/mental breakdown.
What I have is essentially a ghetto 16g setup, hacked MAF and everything. I'm working on upgrading and correcting things now. Let's see how this goes.
Shitty engine bay shot:
Started the afternoon like this:
Ended it like this:
Flyin' Miata Supersize Clutch Happy Meal with the lightest FW they have. Of course the pp has to be anodized purple, it is a Miata after all:

Some other cool ****:
When I started the car up to move it to the middle of the shop, I noticed a slight ticking sound at idle which only increased in prevalence as RPM were increased. I pulled the dipstick to discover it was drier than Michelle Obama's vag, shut off the engine and disconnected the battery. I'll drop the pan and snoop around with a magnet and see if I can find anything. Hopefully the rod knock or w/e won't end my 1.6 early, I still want to apply copious amounts of boost. What oil do most people use? I'm thinking about using German Castrol seeing how this car will be driven at the limit constantly.
I've found like $7 on change and also a nice little brass MBC, I'm planning on ordering a MS-PNP ASAP so I don't think it really matters.
<Shameless plug>
Someone buy my seats:

I swear, every ******* time I think I've got everything figured out, I discover something else wrong. But such is the nature of the beast I suppose. I walk into the shop all chipper with a big smile on my face, look at some of the other swank **** that's in there and then tear into my shitbox.
This afternoon I decided to finger my BOV and wound up with black residue all over my fingers. It was more sooty than oily. Neat. I know it's running rich because it leaves a dandy black smudge on the shop floor when it idles for awhile.
I'm thinking the turbo seals may be shot, but I've yet to check the intercooler piping for oil so we'll see. If this ******'s blown it'll just put me further and further away from my suspension, wheels and all the other late Kwanza presents I want to give myself.
I ordered a seat and some other ****, when it gets here I'll post pics in and effort to distract myself from the real problems with my sled.
I did vacuum a ton of debris out of it though:

That's a nice seat! Where'd you source it from and cost? I like my Kirkey, but hope to reaplce it with something better and with side helmet supports like that... a Hans will really only help for a front collision.

Well prudes and dudes, it's been awhile. Unfortunately though, I don't really have much to add as I'm ~350 miles away from the car while school is in session.
Since my last post, I've pulled the motor, installed the new clutch, lwfw, MSPNP (setup for VTPS), installed a PNP RX7 VTPS, IAT sensor, new injectors and I've gotten everything back in the car. Unfortunately, I'm having some issues.
Issues:
I'll be headed home on Wednesday after my last exam and start working on it that evening but, other than checking the timing belt*, I've no other ideas of things to troubleshoot, particularly with the wbo2 (I already bought a new sensor, to no avail). If anyone has any ideas, please, help a bro out. I've had my cursor hovering over the BIN $129, shipped, eBay header and a MAF to go back to NA in an attempt to start trying to eliminate possible trouble sources.
*I installed a new timing belt after I had to pick up a different head because, while changing the spark plugs, I discovered a hammered-in (not threaded) helicoil. So **** me, right?

Issues:
- My MSPNP isn't detecting my UEGO, even though it's been spliced to the correct wire.
- The car won't idle. It'll start and run really rough (timing belt?) but as soon as I stop modulating the throttle, it dies. Playing with fuel tables doesn't seem to do anything but foul plugs.

timing belt, or megasquirt settings....
try disconnecting your TPS if you havent set any values for it.
determine why your WB wont read.... that would help create a log so people with ms experience can help.

I'm not sure why the wbo2 won't read, the only reason I can think of is maybe I picked the incorrect UEGO option in MS as there may have been two.
