PROJECT: TADPOLE
Hi, I'm James I've been on the forums for a while reading through build threads but i didn't decide to sign up for a membership till a couple days ago. Long story short, this is my 95 Miata.
I wanna start this build thread by saying,I bought the car sprayed and the hardtop included I take no claim in prepping the car for paint or any of the current cosmetic quirks as far as the outside of the car.
The camera I'm using for all these shots is my Samsung Galaxy note 3's camera with a photo editor.
This is my first Miata and I'm not ashamed to admit that I was and am still a honda fanboii at heart, but the pita Miata takes a close second.
This is the car that I learned to drive 5 speed on what good driving actually is.
The name comes from the fact that it looks like a tadpole in it current color, A scion 2012 Army green metallic, If it was white i would call it Spermy. Now on to the actual Build thread.
I bought the car October of last year (2013) it was love at first sight.
The car came slammed on "racelands" so first things first a set of dampening coilovers were ordered. Now don't get all butthurt but I bought a set of Megan Ez streets.
The purpose of the car is to be a good street cruiser so I don't need crazy spring rate/dampening coilovers. I’ve had experience since i run them on my Accord so decided to bite the bullet.
Quickshot of the install.
They ride awesome so i could care less that there 15 way dampening..
After about 2 weeks of getting a feel for the car and the new suspension setup i had a bout of bad luck. In upstate New York deer are a common problem, and unfortunately my miata had a little tussle with one.
Also the weather in ny sucks this year.
The damage wasn’t terrible but it was still bad enough for my insurance company to total me out and offer me return on their insurance on a salvage title.with 3000$ return. So i took the money and started ordering parts that needed replacing. A Right fender, headlight assembly , blinker, and hood were ordered the next day.
Paint for the new parts is still in the air but it will be sometime in the spring.
So because the car’s main purpose to be cruiser, streetshark,/ daily driver whenever i feel like it i decided to focus on my interior to make it that more comfortable as a daily driver.
I started out with picking up a Alpine unit, with 2 Pioneer 5.5s and 2 kickers 3.5s. I have no pictures of the headunit when it was new but here are the speakers,
Then i decided to rip out my steering wheel setup out of my Accord and throw it into the miata. so i bought a egay boss kit and mounted my sparco quick release and GripRoyal Woodgrain Wheel.
I bought a cupholder for the centerconsole because the stock miata ones suck. they can't even hold a 12 Oz coke bottle. Old on left, new on right
Then i found a killer deal on craigslist and grabbed a Bride Low max Vios. I definitely miss music playing behind my head though.
Then i got ansty so i sold my Wheel setup
And bought one of these instead:
Put it in with a friend
Love how roof wings give cars that soft aggressive (Oxymoron ) look so i picked up a egay wing and had a friend help me mold it onto the hardtop.
Spent a night with a good friend popping out my punched in fender, dented headlight cover and replacing the headlight assembly, along with the blinker for a temporary fix.
Then I grabbed some spacers for the front of the car. (rub city)
So thats my car as of today. It’s a good driving car that i plan to keep for a long time. Some may not agree with how low it is or the use of “cheaper” suspension components but im a senior in highschool and i honestly can’t afford much better with my current jobs and if you aint about the low well go watch “Your lowered cars are bad and you should feel bad” video on youtube and It’ll tell you how much i actually care, Nah just kidding ill take constructive criticism any day of the week. Ive just been driving the hell out of the car and loving every moment of it. Some future plans include, a wider wheel Setup “Real Wheels” or whatever that means lol.Right now the car is running esm’s with a 195/45 tire setup. But sometime down the line (4 months) I’d like to pick up some Mesiters or professors. Wayyyyy down the line Boost, and lots of it. (6-8 months? Hopefully, depending on funds)
Thanks for reading, let me know what you think about the small and slow Tadpole.

You pull off crappy racelands to replace them with crappy megans? lol
Also go to your camera settings and press the button "default settings" - your current settings are annoyingly terrible.
So are you actually going to make this car less gay or is the ***** shifter and hardparking wankster wheels staying?

WTF. you posted three pictures of indistinguible damage that the car got totalled for? looks like you need to spend a good $50 and buy a new turn signal lens, headlight and motor. Did you really salvage the car over $50 worth of damage?
