I beat the rain! WOOO! We're scheduled for 0.75" overnight which is a bit much, but we need it as it keeps the place from lighting on fire slightly less frequently. This also means I won't have to manually wash all the grinding gritand paint/bondo sanding dust off the car! That's a win:win as far as I'm concerned

It happens to share the same PN as the NGK BKR6EIX-11 spark plugs that I was going to buy for this project, otherwise I never would have noticed it. Not sure how well the 11/16" inlet/outlet would work for an A2W cooling application or if it has enough surface area to get the job done, but that's a fantastic form-factor for such things. Turns out that basically all hybrids have some sort of separate cooling loop for the inverters so I'm sure other ones could be found as well.
A2W does seem like an incredibly poor decision, based on my space constraints. Humm...

I also agree that A2W is too much stuff for a Miata engine bay but...
The 1991 MR2 Turbo that I am building for my father will end up with both A2A and A2W systems in it and I needed a small wide tiny radiator for it.
This fits the bill almost perfectly, It's even close to 3/4" which is my chosen coolant hose size.

Thank you for posting something you found by accident, it made my day and solved a problem of mine.
I'm gonna do something "different" with the A2W system to hopefully achieve IAT temps at the throttle blade 20 degrees BELOW ambient at 20 psi without using "consumables" such as ice.
The MR2 has a nice rear "luggage" compartment that is useless for luggage but PERFECT for a small Yeti cooler and the other crap I'll need.
I've sourced everything I needed but the small wide radiator I hadn't found.

Hah! This would have been INCREDIBLY helpful back when I was working on the shitty VW, but I'll take what I can get for now.
The Millermatic 135 happens to be the same model that @gesso brought over the other day to do the fenders, wheel wells and some other stuff. Even if I had this before he got here I'm not sure I would have even tried myself, I know I don't have the skills for something like that. I think its only rated to do 0.1875" on the big end but if you crank her up you can get a little more jam out of it, provided you respect the duty cycle which is pretty short. Production welder, this is not. It came with an auto-darkening helmet (which actually works!) a Lincoln "my first welder" hand held mask, 2 pairs of very nice gauntlet gloves, a leather apron and a harbor freight slag hammer, lol. There's also a bag of tips for the gun and an additional small spool of Hobart wire. The 135 is a discontinued model but its a Miller so parts and the manual are readily available. Production date on this guy appears to be 2006. It should be more than adequate for the kind of trouble I get into on the regular. The PO said he had it for 3 years and only used it a handful of times, he said he bought it from the original owner who was an old guy who he was pretty sure used it like twice. Its impossibly clean inside so I tend to believe him. It had a bit of a hard time getting the wire to feed initially but once I got it up and going, it definitely chooches. This thing is a force multiplier for me, I'm going to get myself in so much trouble.
Now, to figure out how to get myself into an A/C TIG machine... there are a couple Miller Synchrowave 180SD on nor cal Craigslist at the moment...

Nice weld for a first flux core pass A tank of some gas and some solid wire and I will be bugging you to weld my crap.
Get yourself a set of tig gloves (I like the tillman cuff top ones). So much better than the heavy leather ones, you just have to remember that you aren't quite as protected so don't touch things that are freshly welded.
My first real welding project has been putting in new frame rails on my NB. 14awg and going well so far. Gonna be moving to the quarters after that.
Also, go watch Fitzee's video on mig welding sheet metal. That guy is a master and you will be doing body work in no time.
