Doesn't matter, I still don't want the accounts linked in any way. I try to keep these things as separate as possible. The chain of security and privacy is only as strong as its weakest link. The more places my info is used/stored/transacted, the longer the chain gets and the greater the chances of exposure. Imgur does not require me to log in to host my images, therefore I have no login. Would you believe me if I told you that I usually expunge or obfuscate exif data from the images I use before I upload them? ;)
Example: I never used picasa because its linked to my Google account. It used to be trivial to figure out a users Google account (and thus email address) if someone posted using a picasa link unless the user took the time to change the options around for the URL. 98% of the time, they did not. I guess I'm just old enough to be incredibly paranoid. It's all personal preference, and this is how I prefer to operate. :dunno: My Apple, Twitter, and Gmail passwords were all robust—seven, 10, and 19 characters, respectively, all alphanumeric, some with symbols thrown in as well—but the three accounts were linked, so once the hackers had conned their way into one, they had them all :eggplant: |
The 4 days I just spent in Las Vegas? Defcon. https://www.defcon.org/html/defcon-23/dc-23-index.html
Don't be surprised when your work proxy blocks that URL. :giggle: |

So, no :fawk: Edit: every password I use is unique. |
I don't link my Facebook account. F that. I don't even use Facebook much, occasionally to laugh at ricers, or interact with people I who I dont want to have my phone number. I occasionally use google sign ins because I've dealt with their oauth system as a developer, and it's the tits.

Did you guys know this is actually a build thread about a car?
(says the guy that helped derail it pages ago :giggle: ) |
Wait what? I thought this was Ramble on and on 2?
<br /> <br />:) |
I usually forget about midway through whether I'm reading the random topics thread, G's build, or any of Aidan's threads.
|
<p>Thats mostly because for me this whole forum is the random topics thread :)</p>
|
I looked at my car yesterday, does that count? :giggle:
Hopefully I'll get some time to poke at it tonight. No comments about my screenshots in post #1842? I have no idea what those tables and functions do, would they prevent me from starting? God damn I was worried about this, tuning from a no-start condition is probably the absolute worst thing I could have possibly imagined, and here it is! |
<p>I don't see why not. What firmware version were you using before?</p><p>There is a warning on msextra:</p><p>
</p><p>Some of the ini changes will result in harmless warnings when loading MSQs from 1.3.x<br />Users upgrading from 1.2.x or earlier codes need to pay more attention.</p><p id="158"> |
I was on 1.2.4 IIRC
Pay attention to WHAT?! Where the fuck did you see that? This is why I fucking hate the megasquirt. Its the PERFECT example of how NOT to document a project :vash::vash::vash: |
Yeah man, I feelz the feelz. MS documentation is becoming borderline hopeless with newer and newer revisions.
But at least you got Rev to help you. DIY was beyond terrible customer service when I was looking for answers. I will never buy another unit directly from them as long as I live. |
I like the hardware, its the documentation that drives me up the fucking wall.
I guess I could roll back to 1.2.x and reload that MSQ and see if it starts, then step incrementally 1.2.x -> 1.3.x -> 1.4.x and check between flashes that it actually starts? Not sure if that's a waste of time or not. |
I dunno, sounds like a giant waste of time. But then so is reading the documentation.
Wish I could halp, but I am firmware dumb :( |
<p>It's worth a go, but it's also worth asking Rev if he has a map for the latest 1.4 code you could use.</p><p>Importing your VE & Ignition table afterwards is a simple copy & paste job.</p>
|
<p>Hell if it's any use you're welcome to a copy of my map. (MS3 basic on a 2003).</p><p> </p>
|
I'll play with it tonight and we'll see what's up. I need to relax and go through my settings, step by step by step and confirm there is no fuckery. If I end up being completely over my head I'll PM Rev for a map but first I want to see if I can work this out for myself, I don't want to pester Rev if I don't have to. Plus, if his facebook is to be believed, I'll be once again interrupting his vacation. ;)
|
<p>I spend time on the msextra boards, and play with the beta firmware on occasion. Its definitely not plug n play.</p><p>Its pretty much a 2 man show I think though, and I don't even think it is their main job. Documentation is not high on their priority list.</p><p>I don't even care about the bad instructions. The fact that they rescanned their schematic with a potato sideways gives me an aneurysm every time I try and read them.</p>

Nothing to see here, move along
