Glad the pic helped (I probably didn't post it 'cause it was such a lousy picture).

I thought about trying to remove the whole thing, but it wouldn't budge when I tried with a channel-lock. So I just cut the b**ch off and tapped it.

I like the way you think. If I fuck it up I can always yolo the steel sleeve section out and tap it for something even bigger.

Nothing wrong with putting pipe threads into steel. In fact, most pipes used in industry are steel and pipe threads were specifically designed for that material.

True, but its a steel sleeve pressed into a chunk of cast aluminum. Just makes me slightly nervous is all.

We'll see if my cojones are big enough to take a hacksaw to my CNC head :eek5: Though I'd like to get the rear main and oil pan on before I start generating a bunch of metal chips around the block.

Injectors are back all nice and clean! They even smell like fresh chemicals :giggle:

Now that they are clean I'm considering selling them. When E85 eventually makes its way out here I want to be ready. Can't make up my mind though :sad2:

TSE- Creates Gen2 11.75 brake kit
949- Submits 36-1 wheel code to DIY for SM damper
TSE- Releases updates on cast EFR manifold

All my wants...

Does anyone need a caucasian (non-latino) non-smoker O Positive kidney? :vash:

(That's right bitches, universal donor! Give blood motherfuckers!)

Monk 05-08-2015 12:12 PM

Actually O- is the universal donor type. Although even this isn't 100%. Blood also has to be tested for rhesus factor, as even an O- person can be Rh positive.
AB+ is the universal plasma donor type.

This post is why you shouldn't ever be friends with a biologist.

Shit, I knew I was close :giggle:

At one point in my life Jiffy Lube changed my oil like 4~5x times in a period of less than a week. By "Jiffy Lube" I mean Stanford University and by "oil" I mean blood and by "changed" I mean completely replaced. Aparently this is how you properly break in an infant.

For obvious reasons I give as often as they'll take it. I'm registered with ARC and UBS

Breaking shit from birth.

I see what you did there.

EO2K 05-08-2015 12:39 PM

Who knew babies and built motors followed the same break-in process?

I'm A+, but up until I went on high blood meds, I was a regular donor. I still have the 5+ gallon pin on the lapel of my winter coat.

I started in college. Back then, it was a way to meet the student nurses.

turbofan 05-08-2015 05:58 PM

I tried giving blood once. I was plugged in for like 15 minutes and it was amazing.

Of course, by "plugged in" I mean with a big ugly needle in my arm, by "15 minutes" I mean well over an hour, and by "amazing" I mean that i ended up with 4" long bruises on each forearm and not enough blood to even fill one bag so I'm sure it just got thrown away anyway.

I'm not doing that again, unfortunately.

hornetball 05-08-2015 06:42 PM

Navy wouldn't let pilots give blood, and I never got back into the swing of things after I got out. I still fly enough that Hypoxia is a concern. Hmmm . . . .

18psi 05-08-2015 09:17 PM

I give blood all the time.
And by give blood I mean nothing, and by all the time I mean never.

My body reacts so violently to voluntary blood loss that it's a whole procedure just to do a blood test.

Involuntary? No problem lol. I think I "donated" more in the garage than I ever did anywhere.

Girz0r 05-08-2015 10:17 PM

f-that, f*ck needles. Never getting my blood!

As in, simply the above... I was one of those kids who REALLY dislike shots.

Oh don't get me wrong, I fucking hate needles as well. In fact, I hate dealing with blood entirely. I have to psyche myself into doing it at all. I can usually keep it together for the first 3/4 of the donation cycle, but after that my brain fucks me and flips the "there is a needle in your arm and they are taking your BLOOD!" switch and then its a struggle to not pass out. I know the signs and I know how to :dealwithit: so I pull up my man pants and make it happen.

Then I go replace the pint of blood with a pint of Guinness :bigtu:

But hey, if blood donation is not your thing, its cool.

DNMakinson 05-09-2015 01:31 PM

I donate, but only in the off season (cycling). Otherwise I get anemic. So far in life, I've never needed any of it back, and I'm grateful for that.

Monk 05-09-2015 02:24 PM

When I was really poor, I gave 1760cc of plasma every week.

Mobius 05-10-2015 03:45 AM

I've given blood maybe twice. Plasma? Lots of times, in college, for the beer monies.

codrus 05-10-2015 05:41 AM

Needles don't bother me, but I was born in the UK, so they won't take my blood.

MOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

EO2K 05-11-2015 10:58 PM

I visited the UK once, but I think I was all of 5 at the time? Probably different than being born there.

Back on topic... I went back and read the last 20 pages of my own thread. Bloody hell scope creep up in here, I need to make decisions and stick with them. This would be done already if I'd stop changing my damn mind about everyfuckingthing

Gesso is awesome and is going to let me play with tubes in his garage this weekend, so possibly exhaust updates forthcoming. I just bought ALLTHERESONATORS! that Vibrant makes in 3" via Amazon Prime. The plan is to fit the biggest one possible in there and return what does not fit. Because I want a resonator, and I'm insane. Obviously. I also don't trust my halfassed measurements, so this is "easier"
