I also have a 3/4 breaker bar

I dunno what the right procedure is for getting seized axles out of rear uprights. Hammers & presses apparently mushroom the shaft and then you're hosed.

buying a new one

I bought 2 rear uprights for 125 from ISellMiataParts.

@Leafy do the advanced auto parts axles come with ABS rings?

Mine came with them, they're sold as abs fitment.

Heh. Well, in my case, taking it to a race car-oriented suspension shop and handing them my credit card seemed to do the trick. :)

My credit card limit isn't high enough for a race shop to do anything to my car.

It wasn't a race shop -- it was a shop that does lots of street cars and the occasional race car as well. I think it ran about $400.

Maybe at the beginning of the month then.

EO2K 11-16-2015 08:55 PM

My intention is to put mine in the press and at least try to do it myself before paying someone to do it. I think I've finally got the guys in the shop here at work convinced that even though I'm an IT guy, I know how to turn a wrench. But I'm sure that's a ways off right now.

I'm catching a cold and its killing me. Ungh, I hate this time of year :hatecat:

Fuck off westerner!
It's going to snow here this week.

Yeah, I did that and it didn't go anywhere. I dunno how the shop got them out, maybe they just have a studlier press than I do.

So right now in the southern hemisphere where I am, it's 65 degrees and sunny and I'm on my third IPA at the taven on the lake front.

Sorry you have a cold.

EO2K 11-17-2015 12:00 AM

lol. Its not that the cold is so bad, its my jacked up sinuses that make me absolutely miserable any time this happens. It's the waiting that makes it so much fun.

18psi 11-17-2015 12:05 AM

Just got over a nasty cold too. Couldn't work for a week, that's how bad it was.

I feelz the feelz

codrus 11-17-2015 01:23 AM

Wednesday evening at work I had the slightly sore throat and it-feels-cold-but-thermometer-says-its-72 that suggested to me I was coming down with a cold, which would have royally sucked with Thunderhill on Friday. Fortunately it appears to have been an ultra mild cold that was gone almost instantly.

Yeah, got whomped. I've not had a "cold" this bad in a long time. I'm calling it a cold but it was much worse than that, I spent 3 days on the couch but I'm better now. Finally got back to work so, you know, posting on the turbo forum :)

EO2K 11-20-2015 12:27 PM

Ok, someone help me with this: my HVAC blower motor only works when its under 46°F in the early AM. Maybe blower motor resistor?

codrus 11-20-2015 01:56 PM

Your car is telling you to man up, you don't need heating so long as it's in the high 40s.

It's more that I'd like the defroster to function, regardless of the temperature. I find that visual input is critical to a successful and enjoyable driving experience. ;)

18psi 11-20-2015 02:39 PM

nonsense

aidandj 11-20-2015 02:46 PM

I've been thinking about wiring up some 12v computer fans to defrost my hardtop window. Shits impossible to see out of when its rainy.

I didn't know you guys had moisture in california. THought it was an oregon thing.

18psi 11-20-2015 02:48 PM

The 1 day a year it rains, it's so difficult
