Exhaust ports. Sorry, this was done with a flashlight and cell phone ![big grin](https://www.miataturbo.net/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I tried to get a couple of angles on each of the ports. The second pic for #3 wasn't worth a damn so you only get one.

It's obviously the valve stem seals.
Tops of the ports are wet, bottoms are mostly dry and there is a very distinct set of streaks where the oil flows down the port and down the runner. Interestingly enough there is no or very little oil on the valves themselves.
There is no point in pulling the head and trying to send it back to have the stem seals replaced. I'll be down for weeks, plus head gasket, plus that drama. There is also no point in taking it to a shop to have $12.49 worth of seals replaced for some obscene sum of money worth of labor charges. Pretty much the only option that's worth a damn is doing it myself.

My big question is WHY is this leaking? These are valve stem seals, they are pretty hard to **** up. This makes me think something else is going on here.

I'll probably just order one, they are $60-80 on Amazon. The question is can I compress the Supertech übersprings with any of those compressors with the head on.
Yes, that's where its from.

Whatever brand valve stems seals were used, I'd probably make sure those are NOT the brand that goes back in it. I'm curious which ones you used, so I can make sure I never use those.
And you called me a troll when I said I would question whoever assembled that head.
