We've been fighting an oil pressure issue pretty much the whole time we've been on the road. I robbed the AccuTechs out of the Miata and slapped them in the VW very last minute but they seem to be working great. I'd been using Valvoline VR1 in straight SAE40 but as soon as oil temps get over about 215° the pressures nose over hard. With all the pass summiting we've been doing, I've had some serious problems keeping the pressure up at idle so thicker oil is about the only thing I can do right now. I changed the oil this morning to VR1 20w-50 in the AutoZone parking lot in Fresno. Lol. I've been thinking about sticking some washers under the relief valve springs...
I think we're sitting somewhere around 9th place right now out of about 25 cars, we'll see how this goes when the scoring is out tomorrow.
