Default New build thread - LS1 V8!

Here is what I have ordered so far:
- stock LS1 motor from '99 Camaro
- stock T-56 transmission from another '99 Camaro
- 8.8" Ford IRS rear end from '95 Thunderbird
- Brand new Ford Racing limited slip differential w/ carbon fiber clutches
- Ford rear end installation kit (gaskets, bearings, etc)

Still need to order or fabricate:
- Boss Frog subframe, transmission, and rear end swap kits
- Axles/driveshaft
- PCM re-flash + harness modifications
- Headers
- Exhaust
- Clutch / flywheel

Reasons to go with Boss Frog kit:
- comes with EVERYTHING you need to install
- no need to cut/weld transmission tunnel
- really not much weight distribution difference as FM/V8R kit places motor only 1.5" rearwards and weights about the same

About the car:
- 1992 race prepped Miata
- FM AFCO suspension w/ RB hollow front bar
- Polyurethane bushings everywhere
- Hard Dog cage
- Sparco Sprint 5 seat

I'm not joking...as long as its not in the next six months. I love the turbo scene, but really wanna go LS myself deep down.

I bet this build thread will be full of just as much fail as the last. Good luck with the "project."

Jeez I wish I had the time, money and energy to do all the builds you have. I'd have kept one or two and driven the crap out of them though. Looking forward to seeing how this one goes and what the finished product ends up like. Of course, that's IF it gets finished.

I still think a turbo'd Honda K motor build would be killer. 400+ hp out of a light aluminum four banger. You're just the guy to do it too!

LOL I really hope we're all wrong on this. Seriously. But I'm fairly new here and have already witnessed Slava go through like 3 projects none of which were finished. That really makes you wonder
