That wasn't my point. If you wanna just dump in someone's map and cross your fingers I'm fine with it, as long as you basically admit/state that.
My only gripe was with you posting this base map in at least a couple threads now saying "yours is off from this one" and stuff. Like that one is the standard of some sort.
That was my only issue.
But yeah if I were tuning this car, I'd proceed with knock sensing abilities past the map he has now. (though could defininely run more spark out of boost)
Back on topic, reading through Ed's thread (turbofan), I noticed we both have the same compact compressor housing on our 71's. I wonder if this is a bottleneck and causing both of us to run out of flow around 300 whp. I don't want to keep throwing things at it and seeing what sticks, but an anti surge comp housing would be a good idea at this point since I am getting surge in higher gears at lower rpms. I am hitting the dyno this tuesday and I will see what is actually up here.
I may be onto something. Today is much cooler than yesterday and I am seeing ~15 degree lower temps. Aside from smoothing out the boost curve, no other changes resulted in this:
Comparison of yesterday to today:
Attached is the log. Feel free to critique my tuning. I am pretty stoked to make 10 psi and 200 tq by 3300 with this big turbo.
The minutiae between a 300 whp tune and a 350 whp tune is just dumb. At this point I may just need to put more hours in to get to ALLOFIT. Of course the map sensor is already there. I am still on the 2.5 bar. 3 bar sensor and referenced fuel system go in over winter. I am going to rock this setup hard until I win the lottery.
that's way better
log looks good too, though I'd update the bcs to hold 100 as long as possible vs 60 to help spool
bcs? Boost Control Settings? Are you referring to the EBC duty cycle? If so, I also would like to see the difference it makes.
VTK: I wonder how close the curves would be (besides initial spool) if you ticked the correction boxes and added the temperatures, though you did see slightly more boost at the high end as well.
Meh, he's running a map from someone else on the forum and no one bats an eye lol.
My point was that he has a knock sensor and that he should use it. To log things and see whats going on. Det cans are that much better.
In B4 soth is in talking about how no one should listen to ridetheclit...
He's running a map that he's spent a dozen or two hours of his own time creating... Yeah, i have some inside information, but i'm pretty sure it's fairly clear what's going on here from what he's posted in the thread.
The only timing map thing he's asking about is VVT. You have an NB1. You don't have VVT.
Nice man!
You'd adjusted your timing a bit too right? The new log is on pdexta's timing map?
Concealer, didn't he say he was going to run pdexta's timing map...

I actually added 5 kpa above 6000 rpm to help with torque slump. Otherwise the latter graph actually has a degree less timing. I've hit mbt I think, but I will confirm on the dyno tomorrow.
I've already changed enough of the timing map that it's not really that close to pdexta's anymore. Though i did use it as a starting point.
