I'm in North Georgia, today I went to load firmware on the ecu because the issue was I was on the wrong firmware for the ecu. But then I lost connection to the ecu and have no idea what happened, that is why I'm throwing in the towel. I'm very inclined with mechanical and could install everything, I just want something relatively cheap that works for engine management. I don't need all the fancy things, just timing and fuel control and I could work with it.
No you cant. You can't work with that. Work with your ms.
I went back and skimmed from te beginning. Looks like you have been trying to make a very old ecu work. Probably spent the same or more money than a newer unit, trying to make it work.
giving up is the lamest thing you can do. Hell, you've only been messing with this whole thing for 3 months. My car was on jack stands for two years, then I spent another three months trying to et it started. Now I feel halfway confident with my ms skills. I still ha e a ton to learn though. Point is, dont be a quitter.

You got me wanting to go back into it. If I can unload the 2 units I have and get some money back, I'll buy a pre assembled that comes with everything.
Cliche, I am trying. The units are what's holding me back. It's my only car and I daily it, so I keep the MAF in place and I'm trying to get it running while switching between ECU's. I don't even have a signal from my DIYPNP I just bought, it was working and while I was changing the firmware I no longer have a connection to it.

Yeah but you bought that even tjough everyone told you to buy at least 2.

Well it did work, and I had a connection. I realized why my car wouldn't start, which was the base map and my firmware were different so it didn't even change anything. Then I flashed a new firmware and when I went to load the new base map it said my rpm's were at 65k and then I lost connection to the whole unit when I was trying to see why. Now it says it doesn't recognize anythings there.
getting it to connect can sometimes be difficult, but not impossible.
HOLY ****! you bought 2 units!? my god, figure out how to getthem connected and sell that stuff. holy crap you did spend more than just a single new unit.
So I figured I'd give it another go and the ECU magically works again. It gave me the list of errors I need to change, and the interface is weird. And honestly don't know what those errors mean completely.

Yeah the first was a cheap $200 MS2 V3, that wasn't a big deal. I have a DIY pnp that I'm trying to get to work that I spent money on.
So very temp setup, so when I turned my key to prime the fuel pump my fans kicked on, and it wouldn't start, crank and could smell fuel but no start. I guess my ECU is wired wrong? TPS is recognizing, good MAP signal. Any ideas?
It's clear as day that everything is working except RPM in my datalog. Data log one no MAF.msl
Alright, my rpm isn't syncing, from what I can see I have it wired up correctly. The pull up is on the 12v and I have the wiring across the boards correct. Does anybody see an issue that I don't?
