motorcycle swap DONE
#6
I kinda explained it in that video but basically I just got bored of the turbo car and wanted to do something that would test my car building limits. Turbo setup was fast but with the internet, anyone can build a turbo miata at this point. I wanted to do something unique. ALSO, I've always wanted a sequential transmission, and could never afford a legit one

Hey man fair enough, definitely impressive, and sequential is very cool. I'm also working on a gocart with a cb900f engine that will have a similar shifter, but the clutch will be a motorcycle clutch lever on the shift lever. I had a hard enough time cobbling together my turbo miata. I also love my cbr1000rr so this is right up my ally - love it. Sorry for asking what's answered in the video I'm at work can't watch the vids till tonight.

I just watched the build breakdown video, well done. I love that you came in here with the swap DONE, not theorizing and dreaming like most other swap threads. Big win.
I see that the biggest issue is the gearing, is there any way to fix that? Custom cut gear for 1st? I guess due to the gearing spread you'd need a whole gearset, or at least 1-3 or something.
How's it do power wise, have you raced anything? I'm guessing 160ish WHP and at 1500lbs should have a power to weight ratio similar to a ~230whp normal weight miata. Not slow, and it looks quick in the vids, and that gearbox/gearing must be excellent once the car is moving.
For reverse you could use a starter motor perhaps, though you'd definitely have to change the gearing. What did you have in mind?
