Jesus I hope not, I believe you meant biennial? :)

It'll be interesting to see what happens when you move it to the feed side for the rail. I mean, obviously its doing something if your tuning issue is sorted.

Also, thanks again for letting me stop by and borrow tools last weekend. I'll see if I can get them back to you in the next couple weeks :bigtu:

Hm. I always thought 'biannual' was every other year and 'semi-annual' was twice a year? I dunno. But yes, every other year. :)

I don't think moving it to the feed line is going to make any significant difference. I had it in there briefly when I was first testing it (to confirm that it worked before putting in the effort to mount it), and the effects at idle were the same. I couldn't drive it that way (damper was unsecured, feed line was dangling below the frame rails), but I could idle it.

Glad the tools were helpful!

I run a stock rail with 6AN lines, return setup, etc. It's possible, doable, and works. We run similar boost/power. I doubt I have more fittings than your setup, it's not that crazy.

Cool results though! It's your car not mine, but man I wish you had that regulator up front, referenced, and then did this test with and without the damper. Just for my own knowledge though.

Also forgot, but for coils I run IGN1A Race coils and they are great. I run .030" gap on them at 28 PSI. I can run .040" gap on them but I have to crank the dwell to 5.0+ for them to do that. I just run them at .030" gap and 3ms dwell as running 5.0+ seemed like a bad idea for coil reliability. I could idle 19.0:1 AFRs with .040" gap, it will misfire in the 18.0:1 AFRs now but it's really not an issue.

Sure, but I already have fittings and they're mostly the wrong ones for a return setup. I'd need one 100 inch hose, and one 120 inch one, the longest I have now is 84. That's about $150 just in hose, then I'd need to figure out where to mount the regulator because there's no room on the rail itself. Etc. The time to decide to convert to return was *before* I ordered the FM BFK, not after. :-)

One other random thing I noticed this weekend is that the transmission appears to be leaking from the seam between the main body and the tailshaft housing. Ugh.

If only somebody had just posted a wonderfully documented tailshaft housing install how-to...hmmm could be helpful :)

I'll take another look at it, yeah. Your photos are teeny though. :)

Rearranged some stuff in the garage and managed to get the Audi back in there!

<br />God damn it. The image reuploading breaks my links to the high quality pictures. I'll relink everything tonight.

So do they taste the same? ;)

I've always liked that color, I very nearly painted my Mustang in something similar. Good show sir.

The S6 is faster, but bigger and a bit softer. That was intentional -- the kids are getting bigger and the back of the S4 is starting to get a bit cramped on road trips.

This is my third Nogaro Blue car, I had a B5 S4 sedan in the same color before the B6. The paint appears to darken with age, the new car is noticeably lighter than the old one, and the same was true when I had the B6 and the B5 parked next to each other for a couple weeks while selling the B5.

No work on the Miata this weekend, family in town. We did wander over to Levi's Stadium for some football though. Real football -- Manchester United won 3-1 over Barcelona. :)

Also popped the dress cover/heat shield off the S6 to take a peek. Awww, cute widdle turbos!

EO2K 07-27-2015 07:39 PM

Zee Germans don't need intercoolers, they have SCIENCE! :giggle:

If I had to guess I'd say A2W, bacuseAudi
