Yeah, I thought is was a good deal. Single entry, which is what I was after -- I still like having the PCV system to evacuate the crankcase during street driving. All-metal and nicely baffled inside.

MSR-Cresson in Cresson, TX. About 30 miles SW of Ft. Worth on US377. I'm allowed to bring out 1 driving guest every month (seems like I do this every other month or so). The cost is $20 per 30 minute session. Really can't beat it. Way better than a golf club membership.

Pulled the BEGI adapter and Kia waterneck from the back of the head and this is what I found:
The crack is all the way through. And it's warped, big time. You can see that it's been seeping for a while. I can't believe I didn't notice this when I was putting the parts on with the engine on a stand. Now I get to finally experience the installation with the engine in the car.
I bought this waterneck used. I suspect it had been overtorqued. Note than the BEGI spacer sets up this kind of damage because it doesn't fully support the waterneck at the bolt holes.

Here's another issue and its solution. I've been wrestling with a rear "gritty" feeling upon aggressive track brake application. I've never been able to see any issue with the pads and rotor surfaces -- they look great (Carbotech XP10/XP8).
Expanding my search, I found the problem. I've got the old V1 Goodwin BBK installed on the car. Looking closely at the allen-head pan bolts that secure the friction ring, they have almost no clearance to the caliper bracket. A close up of the bolt head shows that it looks like it's been hit with a file (all the bolt heads look like this). Pics:
The rear caliper brackets had matching marks:
To fix, I clearanced the brackets with a grinder:
It seems that when sufficient brake torque is applied on this kit, the brackets flex enough to contact the bolt heads.
Hit the track today. No more issues. Braking was excellent. I also found that 2 seconds! Got a 1:28.8, which is a new personal best on the 1.7CCW. I was following "Miatamoto" (Thomas Hiromoto) around when I did it.

Because I'm still waiting for the builder to give me back the engine for the Silver car. Also, Silver car is my comfortable DD with AC and all the options. It'll track again once it cools down. But this is my flogging in the heat car. Honey Badger!

I am improving a lot. I get better every time I go. It's pretty exciting. This iPod data logging stuff is awesome. And having a Honey Badger car, that's awesome too.
I'm glad I've posted so much to youtube. I can compare newer and older videos and see real differences.

However, once I've signed on with Red Bull F1, I'm thinking an LFX V-6 swap might be a good addition to Honey Badger.
