That's the goal if this situation progresses, at least get everything into the car, regardless of whether or not i get it running. It will most likely go spend the next year in Missouri at my fathers house. I would just put all of the parts in the car/trunk. We will see. Sort of a bummer I wont be finishing it up anytime soon though :/

What are you actually missing from getting the car mostly done and running? You have 2-2.5 months before you leave for vacation. You have the motor, and turbo setup. So throw them in and get them running.

I think if you got clutch and engine mounts, you'd at least get the engine in the car and mated to the trans, which would be really helpful

Other than the Flyin Miata (M-tuned) dual feed fuel rail, what other options do I have? FM is on backorder with them, and I have not been able to find anywhere else to get one or anything close too it. I did see the Moss Miata unit, not sure if there is any feedback on that one?

Why are you wanting a duel feed rail? The stock rail will flow more then enough fuel for you.

the stocker will work til deep in the 400, possibly even 500

I do not have a stocker, nor do I have any of the stock fuel lines still in tact, completely re-doing all of the fueling components, rail, lines, FPR, flex fuel sensor, pump. However I suppose I do not need it as a "duel feed", more so a feed and return without the FPR being attached to the rail. And should I ever get the urge to push the setup, I would rather not be limited by a fuel rail.

I just want to say that I have never seen anyone max out a stock rail. I think you will be blowing up other things like the trans long before running out of fuel on the stock rail. Knowing you don't have any rail at the moment though makes a bit more sense.

As a side note- I sold one of my other cars yesterday and I now have a bit of expandable finances to throw at the Miata, so this morning I bought-
949 Supermiata Qmax cooling kit thingy- Crossflow radiator/ coolant reroute kit Supermiata comp motor mounts Oil pan baffle Master/ slave cyl. ACT sprung 6puk w/prolite FW and ARP FW bolts Also all of my paint for the engine bay showed up, unfortunately my weekend is packed full so I likely wont make any progress this weekend. This week my goal is to get the power steering rack de-powered, subframe and control arms and everything pressure washed, and get it all ready to accept the engine/ trans back on. I think you should run a stock rail for science. See when it actually runs out :)
I don't think anyone has actually ever found a limit on it. Its pretty simple to use an AN6 quick disconnect on one end, and an FPR-NPT-AN6 adapter on the other end. |

"for science" lol I don't like being a pioneer, that was one thing I promised myself I would not be getting into again with the Miata. However, if I do not find one by the time I need one, then I suppose I will take Payam up on his offer. I have to get my flattop manifold from him here soon anyway, might as well get both at the same time. Its looking like everything I ordered/ need to at least get the engine/ trans mounted up on the subframe will be here before the weekend, and hopefully by the following weekend I will have that completed, and be close to having the engine bay completed/ painted. Maybe I can make some actual progress over the next few weeks, selling that damn GLI has certainly helped push this along. |
