Explain why you feel this way? Not arguing, just curious of your reasoning. I ran 4 additional BOSH 2000cc injectors with a 50/50 mix of e85/93 in my last project without issue.

find the limit of the msm trans before you start contemplating frankenhybrid transmission setups
if this is a street car you'll be surprised at how much power the msm trans will take my theory is it will take at least 500-600 if you have mechanical empathy and street car Also OP, 10.5 is too low for E85. Dann |

IMO, 10.5 is a great medium for that extra timing that you will want. E85 will play a big factor. Also, seeing how the Fab9 setup favors your flavor will be very interesting to see :likecat:
99mx5 posted this link in his build, thought it was worth noting - http://www.enginebasics.com/Advanced...20Headers.html |
with 10.5 you can run low boost on pump if you wanted to. go higher and you lose that option

Please explain how 10.5:1 is too low of a compression for E85? Frankly I do not believe that to be true in the slightest. There is no "set" CR for running ethanol. Would i benefit more from a higher CR? Yes. Will this CR be better than anything below it? most certainly.
What vlad says is a genuine consideration for my customers but only those who want to pay for flex fuel. |
My last project was a Mazdaspeed 6. Direct injection, so we did not have any options for aftermarket stock injectors, so we decided to add an additional fuel rail on the intake manfiold with 4x 2000cc injectors, motor had 10.6:1 CR. On 93 alone it made about 500whp before it was knock limited. Switched to a 50/50 mix of e85/93 and picked up over 250whp and at that time was limited by the turbo more or less. I do not see any issues with the 10.5:1 pistons i have chosen. :)
With the Miata i also plan to run an AEM flex fuel sensor. |
Im not saying it wont work, Im saying that for a BP, dedicated E85, 10.5 is below optimum. Specifically I can say thats true anything this side of 400whp.
If you have something different sweet, it wasnt an attack. |

Well, I FINALLY got everything back from the machine shop, I was initially quoted a two week turn around time, and it ended up taking eight weeks total... smh
Oil pump should be here soon, which means I "should" be able to get the motor assembled this weekend. Once that is completed I will be able to get the turbo mocked up and lines sorted out so I can drill/ tap the oil pan. Baby steps https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1462185808 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1462185808 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1462185808 |

So, when I purchased the BP4W head, it did not have the nuts/ studs for the intake/ exhaust manifolds to bolt to the head, so I called Mazda up yesterday to order them, and they want $11 per stud.... NOPE, not doing that. So I am curious if anyone knows of a less expensive option or the dimensions/ pitch of them so I can attempt to replicate them elsewhere.
Oh, and I got the oil pan back from being cleaned yesterday, so I was able to get the engine on the stand now. (yes i realize it has to come back off for the oil pump, it was going to need to come back off anyway for the baffle/ pickup/ and to drill and tap for oil drain.)https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1462379181 |
