The OEM endlinks with poly bushings suck massively. I have RB poly end links, but you'd be better off with 949 sperical bearing links.
EDIT: You're also missing some spacer plates between the sway bar bushings and the subframe, I think. |
I can't believe the attention to detail on this. I think you are one of the first of more people who will be restoring NAs like this. The car is a classic and this is no different than what some folks have done with other classic cars. Still I'm impressed. Nice job so far!

Just a note: You have your end links on the wrong side of the bar ;)
And you might be better to torque down your control arms once the car is one the ground to relieve any tension on the bushings. |

Also, no zerk fittings on the control arms? I always told myself when i go poly bushings ill do the zerk thing so i can keep em lubed and not squeaky. |

Currently deciding what my next plan of attack is. 1. Assemble all the engine parts together and drop the engine in while my dad is visiting this week. Having a second pair of hands for that would be amazing. 2. Completely finish the wiring before doing anything else 3. Finish the interior up I want to get the engine in but I know it would make things tight to work around. |

Fire, I wish I could afford Xidas. I won't complain though. These SD Bilsteins ride so well on the street. I've never driven a car with specially revalved struts to match the car and it makes it so I don't think I'd ever get a coilovers setup without doing that. Makes the KW V3's on My Jetta seem like crap in comparison.

Have you thought about installing a fender brace from Boss Frog or GarageStar? Now is the perfect time to install it with the fenders out and really tightens up the front end. |

On the mud guards, I've found that the painted rears hold up great (mine are at ~5 years on a tracked 212K car). The fronts are lower and will scrape and bend. I ended up amputating the lowest flexible part of my fronts. Need to get them repainted. |
