I've been gone working on finals and this thread makes me sad because I've gotten so little done on my caar. Jeff you are an inspiration and a kick in the ass. I'll have no way of catching up to you on attention to detail, but getting on shaving the lenses this week.

This is possibly my favorite build thread. Tons of updates, pictures, attention to detail, several tangentially related posts that actually will be helpful to me in the future, etc.

Looks like I forgot to send the roll bar/door bar bolts in to get zinc plated...luckily they are still shiny and yellow....

A vendor gave me a deal I could not refuse...cheaper than refinishing the old seats
2 brand new Buddy Club Seats. I just hope they fit, they sent the larges instead of the regular and I just hope the extra width won't be an issue. The old seats still had a little space between the door bars so I'm hoping for the best. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1387439813 |

They will almost certainly rub a little. Not enough to keep the seat from sliding, though.
But, really, how often do you adjust the seat? |

I have the large version as well. way skinnier than the Recaro SPG I had before... will fit fine.
the hips are skinny and the shoulders of the seat are quite a bit wider... the shoulders are the only place I could see you having an issue with the door panel, but the hips should fit fine even with door bars. |
I have knockoffs, and they rub, but just a little. Doesn't make a bit of difference.

You really can't go wrong with foamectomied stock seats on a mostly street car. Super-comfortable, you can get pretty low, holds you well enough for occassional track days and the price is right.
What's the intended use? |
The Large size Buddy Clubs are monstrous. I didn't think you'd be able to fit that big bastard in there. Miata's are so narrow that you almost HAVE to buy a Miata specific seat.
I really don't like stock seats, either, btw. I'm a pretty small guy, and they still feel like a leather wrapped park bench to me. |

What's the intended use? Problem is solved though, I called the vendor and they are sending free replacements of the smaller size. I'm loving these vendors being awesome! Did a little work tonight. Put a new plastic piece in the front blinker light housing. Sometimes there are no shortcuts for manual labor. This is one of those times.
