I have caught the disease. Just purchased a steam cleaner from ebay.

It's fairly tempting, I'd be lying if I said I hadn't looked. You really can't argue with the results.

turbofan 06-12-2015 06:50 PM

Yup. Aidan now lives less than 15 minutes from me.

aidandj 06-12-2015 06:51 PM

Seriously. Trade houses with me.

EO2K 06-12-2015 06:53 PM

I need to go to Portland again. Is the Oregon Brewers Festival (July 22-26) worth the drive?

turbofan 06-12-2015 06:53 PM

Your house is nicer, my neighborhood is ghettoer allowing me to park more stuff on the street. Guess where I'd rather live.

aidandj 06-12-2015 06:57 PM

I've heard its amazing. I'm not a beer guy though. Portland has the most microbreweries per capita of anywhere in the world though. (Strip clubs too)

You better not go to Portland and miss me by a week.
The week of August 1 is worth the drive. We'll have our own Brewers Fest.

Jeff, are you suggesting that you actually travel with your pressure washer and steam cleaner?

I don't know why I'm dreaming, there is no way I'm getting any free time between now and August

I'm nuts, but not that crazy. If I was to drive up and help Ed with his car I'd throw it in though.

G, the catch is I get to steadily abuse your coffee machine and I work in the night. You also get no input or say on what is "good 'nuff".

EO2K 06-12-2015 07:42 PM

There is not enough water left in the state to make the amount of coffee it would take to keep you awake long enough to "good 'nuff" my car. I mean, you've actually seen it in person, you know this!

Bring a compressor and a paint gun if you want mine to be gud nuff

One of these days I will teach myself how to paint like the pros do with a paint gun. And weld. Those are the 2 skills I want most.

G I don't remember it being that bad honestly. That entire day was a hectic blur though so there is that.

My body metabolizes shit super fast. Coffee and alcohol go straight through me. Double shot espresso, blacker than everyone's soul on MT.net

aidandj 06-12-2015 08:48 PM

I've got a compressor...want to learn on my car? :)

You assume I'd do better than you?...as long as you pay for the paint! I just wish I had a paint booth with proper fans and evacuation. Nothing worse than post paint dust/chalk cleanup. Well, maybe aluminum dust from when I installed the vents in my hood.

aidandj 06-12-2015 08:53 PM

I am 1000000% sure you would do better than me. I am horrible at painting. I screw everything up.
<br />That's why I installed my hood catches outside :) I'll probably pull the hood off when I do my vent.

rleete 06-12-2015 08:59 PM

Painting is not hard, just hard work. It's all about the prep (which means sanding) and then the finish work (which also means sanding). Did I mention there's lots of sanding involved?

aidandj 06-12-2015 09:00 PM

No I'm bad at the actual painting. Every time I fuck it up.

This, and filler, then sanding then powder top coat sanding.

Sanding blocks (professional)
Shit loads of sand paper

Those 2 alone cost hundreds.
