The lame part is where after that Vlad split and Jeff had to head for the hills.

This sounds like we should all chip in for a billboard.. A picture of Jeff with his arms crossed looking swag... MiataTurbo.net Forum posts faded into the background... then across the bottom in bold print - Make no mistake, we drive him now..
I do not like the bitch/pimp sound this has to it. *MT.net has a new young attraction that bends to the suggestions of those he is with. Make it seem worthwhile and watch as he buys all the things* :vash: I aint no $2 trick to make you all that dollah dollah bill ya'll! I'm worth at least $50, $100 on a solid nights sleep! |
Yeah, BACK OFF!!!
On the weekends I get $300 + tip for him |
Sheesh. All I get is the tip.

One day down another to go tomorrow. Way fun day. With only 35 people we all got a lot of runs in. Had trouble in the morning with tires not heating up properly but once I got a good tire pressure at 40 rear 38 front I took 4 seconds off my time and landed at 61.2 for my best.
Best time of the day was the national autocross champion for 2014 in his supercharged Lotus Elise on 275 Hoosiers and 15x10s. He landed I think a 54 for the day. He just had power and grip everywhere and his lines were beautifully perfect. Amazing/inspiring to watch. Gonna try to get a ride along tomorrow. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1413685475 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1413685475 Really fast group, there was an old dude in an NC who was coaching me all day long, he has 5 championships under his belt and drives the hell out of his Semi-stock NC. Beat my time by 1 second. Love the Utah chapter, very focused on helping everyone. 450 WHP STI that was incredible to watch. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1413685475 Very properly built Evo X https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1413685475 And my favorite was a very very powerful BMW with all of it driving the hell out of it. I'll pull some of my videos later. |

Looks like a blast Jeff. Can't believe how ugly that Lotus is though. Wow.

Wow, awesome updates. More recent pics of your car with the new extractors? It looks great.

I was trying to fall asleep last night so I decided to read a build thread in bed - well, we both share the same insomniac tendencies...
Great build - so much of this has inspired me to update my long lapsed build thread, as we've used so much of the same materials/methods independently. I had to build new ducting after getting my AC working, and used the same 1/8th inch ABS - but I had the advantage of shoving mine into a sheet metal stomp sheer and break (works great with 20 seconds of heat gun). Two things I'd throw in - 1/8th inch aluminum stock is great to rivet plastic to if you use the rivet washers, and you can easily add modularity by using rivnuts. My "undertray" comes out with 4 screws for bottom of engine access, and another 4 for intercooler/condenser/radiator to grill mouth. I see you're plastic welding - a quick shot of some acetone will chemically weld ABS (well, melts it together). I'd use a syringe and shoot it into a crack, hold pressure, and about 15 seconds later it'd be sufficiently strong. It's easy to use too much and have it pool into a pile of runny plastic that'll take a half hour to dry, but you quickly become accustomed to how much to use. also: ultrasuede is the shit. |

I was hitting boost cut(285kpa) suddenly with the cooler air, but it was only near redline in 2nd and was barely noticeable. It is such a fun course. The end of the long straight in 3rd with the 180 degree corner is FAST, at least in my car it takes a lot of braking to get slowed down enough to not drift it. I think the last run at around 4:50 is my best, can't be sure. Anyways, enjoy! |
