I still looking forward to how awesome this thing is going to sound through those DCOEs
You're going to need to come down when we do some track days. You aren't that far away and there's no good reason we haven't met since you've been on the forum so long.
He's planning on taking it to Sebring, too.
I would love to be standing next to the wall when this thing comes screaming by at 100+ MPH on the straights at Sebring. I'll take video when it happens.

For sure. You guys ever go out to the FIRM? One of my buddies used to work there as a rally instructor. It sounds like they have a nice asphalt roadcourse where its pretty easy to get a lot of track time in.

A few years ago they did a news segment about rally instruction there. Looks like a pretty cool place.
So, after much thought, I decided to make a few small changes to my cooling system to make the factory oil filter cooler more efficient. Before I make the change, how often is the factory cooler/heater eliminated on track cars?

If an oil cooler with adaptor plate is used, the factory oil cooler is needed to allow space for the fittings. Else some other spacer is needed anyway.
Now that is not to say that the coolant lines remain.
Here is my latest update. Because I am waiting on parts for the fuel system, I decided to tackle the rest of the cooling system. There were a few problems with my initial welding of the water neck. I had to have the bung enlarged a bit to fit the coolant sensor, and I cut off the 4-AN fitting and had a 6-AN installed.
I also had an issue finding a hose that would go from the bottom of the radiator to the water neck on the electric water pump. First, I had to shorten the water neck to have the correct radius and angle from radiator to water neck. I found a stainless J tubing the size of the water neck at Summit Racing. I cut it down to size, and used scraps from the lower radiator hose I butchered earlier in attempts to make the original longer water neck work.
The one that came on my motor has continuous threads the entire length of the nipple, so it was easy to cut down to size. The other unmolested nipple in the pic came from an NB motor.
This is where it gets a little more interesting. After experimenting with various mounting configurations, I am mounting all nitrous hardware under the carburetors. Instead of a loud and proud aesthetic, I am going with a more stealthy approach.
Attached to the distribution blocks are poly tube adapters. Being the foggers are underneath the intake, it will make servicing the jets easier
I just need to make brackets to mount to the carburetor mounting studs.
I like that oil warmer delete. Now you're just going to have a sandwich plate directly against the block? Oil filter will screw directly on to that threaded piece? No aftermarket threaded adapter, less failure points.

have you seen his cooling system? How about the nitrous octopus he just posted? And then there's the aftermarket fuel lines, multiple regulators, and dual carburetors. Troy is all about simplicity, LOL
