1.6 daily derper n/a build (diy bluecollar type ****)
okay this is the third ******* time ive tried to post this, it keeps logging me out. I tried to anticipate it the 2nd time but my copy and paste FAILED? so **** now im just angry and dont want to type this at all. here comes the abridged first post lol
anyways, nice warm welcome hi im clark. my 1.6 miata has slowly been getting its maintenance taken care of.

my plans are to do a moderate n/a build to learn about tuning w/ megasquirt. So far I have only really done cosmetic mods / waterproofing.
ive been on the fence about doing a 1.8 swap, im probably just going to stay 1.6. my goal isnt to push mad numbers.
after the holidays ill be purchasing a coolant reroute, timing components and seals, refresh ignition with ngk wires & plugs and hopefully a ms2!
yes that is an official JDM swag lowrise kit. 600$ xx.VERY RARE.X.x.X
...took the headlight housings out of an astro van and fashioned new sylvania sealed bulbs in the oem frame. i also took a cutoff wheel to part of it to make it look less terrible.
I also made some diy aluminum housings which came out rather well
in this photo you can see my tailoring job, reconnecting the rear window to the zipper.
red racelands, still have "helper" lawl springs, pinch weld 4.5 rear 4.25 front
15x7 +30 TRm c1m kumho ecsta

$$ for $$, the 1.8 swap is worth it unless you're competing in a class that disallows it, even in 94-97 BP05 form. Especially if you're going with a megasquirt, the 1.8 swap is easier since you can use the stock 1.8TPS and coils. You'll have to extend the CAS wires, block off the EGR, and a few other minor issues, but the 20+hp bump across the rev range is much easier than any 1.6 mod you can do in N/A form.

oops, i didnt mean to come across as a ****. I keep having issues typing out posts fast enough. By the third time around I get pretty salty. I'm writing this one in wordpad..
YTMND - Can't Break My Stride
Well after eight hours of slow work and breaks i got all this **** out.
With some poor judgement i think i got this sucker wedged in there pretty good
this was from our previous snow in VA
Yesterday I put in the manual steering rack and today I started the coolant reroute. I will be extending my ecu temp wire and move on to changing my water pump and seals once I finish the reroute, tomorrow.

welp, I wasn't anywhere close to finishing in the time frame I had in mind... I shouldve known better. Thanks to Trackspeed, 949 and FlyinMiata (your tool really does prevent cursing, my mother would commend you) I finally got timing belts on, finished the reroute and cleared off those huge metal blocks from the hotside
edit: once i get rid of that sweet rust patch from my brake cylinder leaking, i'm gonna try to track this slow little babe. Carlos (my miata) also revealed to me that he is a hermaphroditic prostitute from zimbabwe
